"I hired Rocky Flooring because my carpets literally had some rough edges (due to foot traffic, wheelchair traffic, and three active dogs) at all of the transitions to hard flooring. They did excellent work! The two men showed up on time and got right to work. They were able to stretch the existing carpet and then reattach it to the original transition strips. Things look as good as new! I recommend Rocky Flooring to anyone who needs carpet repair work done."

"At first I gave them a bad review because of the person they sent to do the work. After talking to the owner and his team I understood a little more of what went into this project. It was not a simple project to begin with and I was a little frustrated that it was taking so long. After sending other people to finish the project my bathroom is coming along nicely. They are even fixing the mistakes the first person made. Over all the team is very nice and easy to work with. Being a recently widowed woman Tim met me at Floor & Decor to help me with the items I needed to buy. He let me pick what I wanted but was there for guidance. He personally brought over a niche to put in my shower and sent picture of shower faucets I might like."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

In Simpsonville, uneven subfloors, persistent squeaks, or gaps along baseboards often indicate underlying issues that could complicate flooring installation. Homes with crawl spaces or slab foundations, particularly those built before 2000 or near creeks, may be prone to moisture or settling. Open floor plans and intricate ductwork can also require extra planning, so a professional flooring contractor’s assessment is recommended before starting your project.

Helpful?

After finishing a flooring installation in Simpsonville, monitor indoor humidity closely, especially for hardwood, to prevent warping. Wait at least 48-72 hours before placing heavy furniture to allow proper curing. Register flooring warranties promptly and keep documentation. Use entryway mats to reduce tracked-in debris, and consider periodic professional cleaning tailored to local pollen and dust levels. Regularly check for early signs of moisture or wear, especially near exterior doors.

Helpful?

Many Simpsonville homeowners underestimate how local humidity affects flooring material selection and installation schedules. Moisture mitigation and thorough subfloor preparation are often overlooked but critical. Planning for HVAC adjustments, permit requirements, and potential inspection delays is essential. Dust control, pet safety, and temporary furniture storage also require more attention, especially in open-plan or multi-level homes. Early coordination with your flooring contractor helps avoid common setbacks.

Helpful?

Before reaching out to a flooring contractor in Simpsonville, record accurate room measurements, current flooring type, and subfloor condition. Note any history of water intrusion, especially if your home is near a creek or has a basement. Document HOA guidelines, utility line locations, and whether structural changes might need city permits. Providing a prioritized wish list and your preferred installation timeline will help streamline communication and planning.

Helpful?

Flooring professionals in Simpsonville first address moisture control and subfloor stability, given the area’s climate. They acclimate new flooring materials on-site, then inspect foundations for settling or damage. Ensuring code compliance and proper waste removal follows. Only after these steps do they begin the actual flooring installation, finishing with trim and transitions for a seamless look. Safety and minimizing disruption to your household remain top priorities throughout.
