AquaOx is the leading manufacturer of the AquaOx whole house water filter. Our whole house water filtration system filters out contaminants from your water supply to deliver pure water to every tap in your house. You never have to worry about replacing a filter with the AquaOx because it has a self-cleaning backwashing process that keeps the entire filter running smoothly for years to come. The AquaOx filters out chlorine, TTHMs, and other harmful contaminants in your water that may have been a result of water treatment at a plant or pills and other items that may have been thrown down the drain from any house on your same water supply. The AquaOx is also better than reverse osmosis filters because, with ro water filters, all elements are removed from the water as well as the good elements. Reverse Osmosis filters remove the elements that keep the water from eating away at your pipes. The AquaOx removes all the harmful elements and leaves the good providing you with better than bottled water from every faucet in your home.

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The license requirements for water softener installation depend on your location. Some municipalities require that the installer hold a plumbing license, some require a permit and an inspection, but no license for the installer, and some require a permit and a license for the installer. Regardless of the local laws in your area, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed plumber or installer. These pros will install your system properly and have the experience to size the system appropriately. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your installer’s license status.

Most experts agree there’s not much difference health-wise between hard water versus soft water. That said, hard water is more likely to cause skin dryness and issues that go along with it, like an itchy or flaky scalp. Hard water can also decrease the life span of your household appliances and make it more difficult for soap to do its job.

It does cost money to have a water softener, both for installation and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, the taste of your water will be altered, especially if sodium is the ingredient you use to run the water softening system. Look up exactly what your chosen water softener will remove and what will remain because not all systems provide the same results.

Water softener life spans range from 10 to 25 years, with most lasting around 15 years on average. After the 10-year mark, you may see your softener’s performance diminish as it progresses in age. Proper water softener maintenance can impact how long your water softener lasts. Likewise, a home with very hard water or a high demand will put more demand on your softener, which in turn shortens its life span.

Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.
