"I requested an uninstall and re-installation of 2 chandeliers from one residence to another. I received a prompt call from Paul in reference to my request and a timely appointment. He un-installed the 2 chandeliers and followed me to my residence with no hesitation asses the reinstall location. He assessed where I would like the chandeliers to be installed and provided his professional opinion as to the location based on the style, weight and stability. I wanted a certain chandelier hung in the dining area and I was advised it might not be stable, however Paul to the extra time to determine the ceilings integrity and was able to place them both where they would look best. As I observed the installation he was extremely detailed in his work. He was able to install one of the chandeliers in an extremely difficult space which took much effort on his part and it paid off. The chandeliers look breathtaking and itâ s all thanks to Paul . It was a job well done and I am extremely satisfied with the service.. I highly recommend Higginbothamâ s Ekectric LLC for all your electrical and chandelier installation needs."

"Mr. Bailey was absolutely amazing. I have an older house and even simple projects become complicated fast. Mr. Bailey visited my home three different times and every time was a great experience for me. He showed up on time, every time. He was very easy to contact and he kept me informed of what was going on at every step of the job. He was incredibly professional even when my old house threw curveballs at him. I am so impressed with all of the work he did for me and my spouse and I will absolutely recommend him and hire him again if/when we need more electrical work done. Mr. Bailey is a joy to work with and he truly cares about his work. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate him and his dedication to figuring out the puzzle of my house and making sure me and my family are safe in our home."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Upgrading electrical systems in Aiken often increases home value and buyer interest. Improvements like modern circuit breakers, whole-home surge protection, and updated wiring enhance electrical safety and energy efficiency. Adding features such as EV charging stations or smart thermostats can make your home more attractive in today’s market, especially in neighborhoods where buyers expect up-to-date amenities and reliable power infrastructure.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Aiken, confirm your contractor’s licensing and experience with local codes. Review permit requirements and plan for necessary inspections early. Assess your home’s current electrical capacity, especially in older properties, and clear work areas for easy access. Request multiple quotes to compare services, and consider scheduling during milder weather to help prevent weather-related delays and ensure a smoother project.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other upgrades in Aiken can help you streamline your project and avoid repeated disruptions. For example, if you’re planning a kitchen remodel or adding energy-efficient lighting, coordinating these with panel upgrades or rewiring can reduce labor overlap and inspection delays. Discuss your full renovation plans with your contractor to ensure all electrical safety and permit requirements are addressed together.

Helpful?

In Aiken, you’ll encounter several types of electrical contractors. General electricians handle residential rewiring, panel upgrades, and electrical safety improvements. Specialists focus on smart home automation, solar power systems, or generator installations. Some contractors are experienced in commercial or industrial projects. Matching your project—whether it’s GFCI installation or outdoor wiring—to the right local expert ensures code compliance and efficient results.

Helpful?

Aiken’s hot summers and frequent storms can affect electrical projects by increasing demand for reliable air conditioning and surge protection. Outdoor wiring and lighting must be weatherproofed to handle humidity and rain. Scheduling major electrical work in spring or fall helps avoid heat-related delays, while installing GFCI outlets in damp areas reduces risks associated with moisture and improves overall electrical safety.
