I chose Christian Brothers because of excellent Angie's List reviews and also because they refinished a local church's floors. The very knowledgeable & friendly Bruce Donahue did the initial consult. I wanted him to use Poly Whey, which is a low VOC, no smell product, instead of the usual water or oil-based poly. He was very open to trying this, and even told me the hardware store where I could find some to check it out. And I was delighted that not only was the satin finish gorgeous, there was no smell from the PolyWhey when they were finished, unlike previous smelly experiences with urethanes. The workers did an absolutely fantastic, professional, amazing job including detailed sanding around the steam radiators. His lovely son Brian called me regularly with progress reports, which I really appreciated. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the work. Also, he had some cracked oak floor planks beautifully replaced. My floors look gorgeous and I know I will enjoy them for years. The only little issue was that when the workers pulled down the protective plastic sheeting they had blue-taped around the kitchen, several inches of ceiling paint came off with it. But, since I am planning to re-paint all the interior anyway, this is not a big deal. I recommend Christian Brothers wholeheartedly!"
