"Sure-Fix surpassed my expectations of what a finished basement should look like. Everything went smoothly and met all of our needs. Tony and Henry were extremely knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions. We will definitely hire Sure-Fix again for any other remodeling projects we have in the future."

"Jeremy was just the best, his co-workers were top-notch and knew their job pretty well. Having a remodel done is a big headache, but these guys kept me pretty upbeat considering how hard they were working. They did n't waste time, arrived early worked hard cleaned up and left, I love my new kitchen, it looks larger, easier to keep clean, and certainly more effiant than my old appliances. I would rcommend these guys to everyone I know, and will call Jeremy if I decide to upgrade any more of my home. Thanks Jeremy, and Anthony and Ted.. Miss having you around. Marjorie McEntee"

Customers say: True professional

"Theyâ re the best contractors we ever worked with. They took our large basement from unfinished to a fabulous space. Scott included us every step of the way, seeking our input and offering advice on the best way forward. He and his team took out plans, improved them and delivered a great basement. He was easy to work with and delivered what he said he would do."

He remodeled our kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway, bathroom and part of garage. "Recently I hired Rigas to change the drop ceiling tiles in my barbershop and overall, I am so happy with the results. He was extremely professional, and he kept me in the loop throughout the job. It wound up being very tedious work. Halfway through I realized I had hired the perfect guy for the job. The quality of his work is excellent and his attention to detail was just as good. I am so happy with the final product. I wouldn?t hesitate to hire him for another project. I highly recommend Regal Peak Contracting! ?????"

"They were total professional. The people working in my house did a wonderful job. The whole job was more involved than expected but was handled with ease. My whole house interior was patched, sanded and beautifully painted. Lights were installed and curtain rods and huge paintings were hung. Just amazing!"

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Home improvements that increase value offer a high return on investment (ROI) and can enhance your quality of life. Upgrades to your home’s curb appeal often add the most value, with garage door replacement having one of the best ROIs at 93%. Other high-value exterior projects include replacing your front door, upgrading siding and roofing, installing a stone veneer, adding new windows, and landscaping. For interior renovations, a fresh coat of paint provides an excellent ROI. Major projects like a kitchen remodel or upgrading appliances and HVAC systems also add significant value, as potential buyers appreciate the peace of mind that new equipment provides.

Rebar is an essential part of reinforcing a basement floor, as not having it can impact its structural integrity. It helps absorb the tension factors that contribute to cracks in your floor and strengthens its load-bearing capabilities by evenly distributing the weight. Not including rebar could lead to an unstable floor, so don’t skip it!

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

Yes, you can add a kitchenette to a basement. However, you’ll have to consider the costs associated with basement kitchenettes. If you’re starting from scratch in an unfinished basement, you’ll need to account for brand-new plumbing, electrical, flooring, and more in addition to the cost of the kitchenette. If you’re putting a kitchenette in an already finished basement equipped with plumbing and electrical, you’ll save considerable money.

Framing a basement takes three to five days, on average, when completed by a professional, though it may take longer for a larger space. Keep in mind this doesn’t include the time to complete the design, obtain permits, and install the drywall on the framing. On average, fully finishing a basement takes an average of 45 days.
