Small jobs welcome

"I recently hired Michael for a concrete project, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. From the initial consultation to the completion of the job, Michael and his team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and skill. They poured a new driveway for me, and the precision and attention to detail were evident from the smooth finish to the perfectly aligned edges. Michael's expertise in concrete work is truly impressive, and it's clear that he takes great pride in his craft. Not only was the quality of the work top-notch, but the project was also completed within the agreed timeframe and budget. I highly recommend Michael for any concrete work you may need; you won't be disappointed!"

"Mark Harrison and his crew of men do a fine job. They work really hard, are extremely skilled, and very responsible. They take pains to ensure that they meet the customer's satisfaction. "We had a bad experience with a previous landscaper so we were very cautious this time as to whom we would choose to repair the existing problem. After we talked to Tim Comfort and he assured us that he could correct the existing problem and explained everything in detail that he would do we felt very confident that we picked the right landscaping company to help us. Tim and his team were very professional and repaired and cleaned up after themselves in a reasonable time. Thank you Tim and your crew for coming to our rescue."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

With proper maintenance, asphalt milling driveways can last 30 years or more. Over time, you’ll need to regularly sealcoat your driveway. You should also have your driveway inspected every few years and make any repairs as soon as they are necessary; this will prolong the lifespan of your driveway.

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer. No matter what, ensure you choose an experienced recycled asphalt contractor.

Costs range from $3 to $7 per square foot, depending on the area size and project scope.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.
