Small jobs welcome

"I messages several providers on Angie's List looking for reasonably priced granite for an investment property. Missy from Quality Granite Outlet was the first person to respond. I sent drawings and she sent me some color options with estimated prices based on my drawings. We then set up an appointment for a measurement. A few other providers responded over the next couple days, but none of them could come close to the price I got from Missy on granite of the same quality. Eric came out for the measurement. He was very professional. The walls in the kitchen were not square, so the granite I wanted would not work. The slabs were prefabricated so they aren't made wide enough to compensate for the wall. He gave me the option of changing the color granite (the other colors come in full slabs) or cut the drywall and move the cabinets. I chose to cut the drywall and move the cabinets. Eric came back a second time to get the measurement, and make sure everything would work. It was good so we scheduled the install. The installers showed up on time, and got the job done quickly. They were also very professional. The installed counter tops look great. The seams aren't even noticeable unless you know they're there. I will continue to use Quality Granite Outlet for all of my properties.

"Went well - they had issues with our township approving things and demanding unreasonable requirements which added to the installation time but we were always informed - we always knew what was going on and we are exceptionally pleased with the results and are enjoying our sunroom everyday.

We felt like we were dealing with family -

You can't go wrong with this company -

"They installed a patio cover over my deck. Overall, very good. The cover is great and looks extremely nice. Had it not been for a few glitches along the way this would be a 5 star review. Those issues included the time frame of when I signed the contract and that the work was actually done. The contract was signed in May and work was not done until August. I was told it could be done in 3-4 weeks and understand that the rainy early summer did play a bit of a role, but 3 months was a little too long. They did not submit the application for the work permit until July which caused an additional delay. There was also a miscommunication about the install date and they showed up a day early. All that being said, I would use them again. The workmanship seems good, the product is excellent. I did have a leak in it after they installed, and they came out promptly to fix it. I did and still do have one other concern about a stream of water dripping down the corner of my house from the corner of the patio cover (that incidentally hits the lower gutter and is an annoying drip sound) and I called about it and was told its not a problem and that the water will dissipate into the ground. Not sure I like that answer, as gutters and downspouts are intended to move water away from the home because water dripping directly next to the foundation is not recommended and can result in water entry, mold and dampness. So I have to either put a bucket there to catch water or a splash block."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.
