Corrugated metal is a strong, long-lasting material. A corrugated metal fence will typically last several decades, and the metal panels themselves may last for 40 to 60 years. The main thing you should be concerned about is the fence posts. Wood fence posts will last about five years if you purchase them untreated or about 15 years if you treat them after installation. Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.

Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. You should stain both sides of your fence to get the full benefits. Fences often fall along property lines, so you may want to save a buck by leaving your neighbor’s side in the dust.
