"Mike and Lee called to let me know when they were coming and arrived exactly at the time they said. They had me show them what needed to be removed from my home, then gave me a price, and I agreed for them to do the job. They set right to work and finished the job in about 3 hours. They were friendly and polite, and my anxiety about moving (the next day) went down a huge amount after they had taken out all the things I had asked to be hauled away."

"Marquis and his crew did a phenomenal job with shoveling the snow from my sidewalk and driveway. They showed up on time and thoroughly removed the snow and put down pet-friendly salt, which was an extra nice touch. We’ll definitely reach out again for the next snowstorm!"

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Free junk removal isn’t always available unless you’ve got some really great friends to help you haul stuff away. While private companies will charge a fee, some charities and local cities will offer free junk removal services for specific items and volume limits. Speak with your local town offices for trusted organizations.

Whether you should demolish your garage or renovate it depends on your needs and the condition of the garage. You might want to build a new garage if yours is too small or in bad shape. However, if your existing garage is simply unsightly, outdated, or needs renovations, a garage remodel is a smart answer. Code changes can require you to do repairs, so talk with your contractor for a personalized bid.

Grading complexity, debris removal volume, equipment, labor, and permits determine expense levels.

There are several ways to dispose of excess sod, including building a compost pile, taking it to a green waste disposal facility, donating the sod, or reusing it in another part of your yard. It’s a good idea to check with your local municipality to see how to get rid of yard waste, as some areas have local regulations on what can go in the green waste bin. For example, your recycling services may reject too much soil added to green waste.

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.
