"Mike and Lee called to let me know when they were coming and arrived exactly at the time they said. They had me show them what needed to be removed from my home, then gave me a price, and I agreed for them to do the job. They set right to work and finished the job in about 3 hours. They were friendly and polite, and my anxiety about moving (the next day) went down a huge amount after they had taken out all the things I had asked to be hauled away."

"They were up front and honest with thier pricing on junk removal. And had the best pricing compared to others in the area. Blake arrived on time, worked quickly, efficiently and professionally was able to get everything to fit in one load. I will be hiring them again."

"Marquis and his crew did a phenomenal job with shoveling the snow from my sidewalk and driveway. They showed up on time and thoroughly removed the snow and put down pet-friendly salt, which was an extra nice touch. We’ll definitely reach out again for the next snowstorm!"

Small jobs welcome

"Harvey called me and was able to schedule my job the same afternoon. Him and his family came and cleaned up my front lawn by removing the extra soil that I needed to remove for a project I'm working on. They were courteous and respectful. Harvey even gave me contact information for a contract to help with other jobs we have coming up. I would highly recommend them to anyone who ask, and I would definitely use them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Great group of guys, all very easy to work with, helpful, fast, efficient, and friendly. They were patient, extremely so. My sofa & loveseat were a tight fit to get through the doors and down an indoor enclosed staircase and the DID IT!! Jason especially was very helpful, even came back when an item was still here. So YES I’d TOTALLY recommend JUNK SQUAD. They are expanding to add packing services for anyone needing that as well."

"I've hired many movers, and, by far, Zippy is the best. Not even close. The movers were outstanding, very polite, very careful. They worked very well together. I don't plan on moving again, but I have recommended Zippy to anyone moving now or possibly in the future. I couldn't have been more pleased."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Choosing a junk disposal method begins with considering what kind of junk you’re getting rid of. If it’s hazardous waste, you’ll be more limited in your options and will either need to haul it to a dedicated disposal facility yourself or find a junk removal company that works with hazardous materials. If it’s general waste and mostly consists of small items, renting a dumpster is a great way to save money if you and some friends can move the junk into the dumpster yourselves. To save time and energy, though, hiring a junk hauler is the best option.

Services include regular garbage pickup, recycling, and bulk waste disposal options.

While a rented dumpster can handle a wide variety of materials, there are significant restrictions on what is allowed. Generally, you can dispose of most non-hazardous household junk, yard waste, and construction debris.

Accepted items typically include:

  • Furniture, carpets, old linens, and toys

  • Wood and yard debris

  • Small appliances and excess trash

  • Renovation waste like old finishes, building debris, and roofing materials (unless they contain lead paint or asbestos)

However, you cannot put toxic, flammable, or hazardous materials in a dumpster. Prohibited items almost always include:

  • Paint, gasoline, oil, and other fuels

  • Household cleaners and other chemicals

  • Electronics, batteries, and tires

  • Refrigerators, hot water tanks, and medical waste

Since regulations can vary by location and company, it is essential to check with your dumpster rental provider for their specific list of accepted and prohibited items before you begin.

If you have a large area of brush and vegetation to clear, forestry mulching may be the best option. This method works well for relatively flat areas that don’t have many large rocks or mature trees to clear. Forestry mulching is a relatively quick process that improves soil health, reduces fire risk, and leaves behind usable mulch.

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.
