"I called Jonathan on a Monday morning and he returned my call the same day, and came out the next day to look at the job and provide a quote.  I accepted his bid and he got started the next day.   He provided thorough information about the various product options. The craftsmanship of the new boardwalk is so much better than what was there before. He did quality work in the time promised and cleaned up completely after the job was finished. I was very pleased and will have him back to do the next phase of our decking replacement when the time comes.

"Choya and Abbey are great to work with. They go out of their way to provide quality and timely service. Very pleased with their first project and have since hired them to replace my carpet with laminate flooring and when that is completed there will be several other projects. Choya has the knowledge of all aspects of home maintenance and repair and the rates are reasonable."

"We had Flood Crew out to help when our hot water heater broke. Bill and his crew were great! From the water remediation to installing a whole new floor in the basement, the crew took care of every step. These are some of the hardest working guys I’ve ever seen! And they don’t play around, they get the job done. I recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done. Thanks a million, Bill & crew! ???"

"My grandfather and I were very pleased with the service we received. We contacted Kc Nicole Construction about fixing our roof, since it was weathered and animals were able to get in. On the phone they were very professional, they gave us a good estimate and we’re able to communicate what they planned to do. The service was phenomenal! They did an amazing job on our roof and we couldn’t be more pleased. If you have any roofing needs i would highly recommend Kc Nicole construction!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made from clay, but porcelain tiles are fired in a kiln at a higher temperature. This makes them more durable, but it also means porcelain is more expensive than ceramic at $3 to $5 more per square foot.

Even with the higher price point, many people choose porcelain over ceramic because there are more color and design options.

The process takes two to four days, depending on the size of the area and your experience level. The first day involves assessing and prepping the existing tile, while the second day is for laying the new tile. This may take longer in complex areas. After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours, grouting and sealing can be completed on day three. For larger projects or intricate tile patterns, expect the timeline to stretch a bit longer. Also, proper drying time between steps is essential for long-lasting results, which extends the project’s time.

Removing old tiles can be more complicated, but it can also be more manageable, depending on your circumstances. Typically, old tile is hard to remove because the adhesive had loads of time to bond with your wall, becoming a formidable foe between you and your new tile installation project. On the other hand, old tile in high-traffic areas can become loose, making it much easier to remove.
