"A Cut Above many other Contractors! We had needed brick pointing done on our home for a few years. We are also in the middle of a renovation project for our game room and that included the installation of a sliding glass door where a window was. The door install required that a steel lintel be moved up to accommodate the height of the new door. We were very fortunate that we called Michener Chimney and Masonry to come and have a look. They came out in a timely fashion and gave their estimate to us in just a few days. Once we agreed to get the work done, Jim and his team from Michener began the work quickly. They were professional and friendly and did a wonderful job on all of the aspects of the project. Communication with them was easy, clear and accurate. We would highly recommend anyone needing brick or masonry work to use Michener Chimney and Masonry. And they always give 110% performance! A few weeks ago, I noticed water was beginning to leak around the ceiling area of our chimney. The heavy rains were very unusual for the winter months. Nonetheless, I was concerned the problem would get worse if I waited until spring—so I called Dorin. He responded within 20-minutes! And two-days later he had workers on my roof making repairs. "I wish this was a 5 or even 4 star review but it's not. This company is a mess, we had 2 crews, the first crew did pretty poor work, the second crew was better but there were still details missed. The first crew put over 2 dozen cuts into my wood window trim and while they said they'd come look at it, they have since ghosted me. I have spent numerous hours repairing this. Project management and quality is left largely to the customer. You better know what you want and what you're looking at to get work done by this company. My historic brick is common but they didn't bother to source any. I could have done so if I had known. After 3 rounds I finally got a brick that was close but it took calling upper management to make it happen. The mortar and the terracotta patch don't match existing despite me trying to coordinate with them ahead of time. Bottom line is details are always someone else's problem. The parts that are good are pretty well done but some of it is pretty sloppy."
