"Everything went great! Geno had 2 workers with him and they were multitasking to get the job done quickly. I am very pleased I choose them to do the job.
I originally just purchased the caulking for the windows, but after receiving a quote from Geno for my chimney repair and cost to install a attic fan, I decided to go with him.
He was very professional and helpful. He even trimmed some branches off of my house while on the roof and on top of that cleaned out my gutters, at no extra cost! And cleared 2 vents in attic that had old bees nest in as well. You don't get that kind of help everyday. I really appreicate a company that cares about the people they are doing a job for. I would highly recommend Geno's Siding & Roofing.

"PGT did an excellent job remodeling our bathroom. The team was courteous, easy to work with, and cleaned up at the end of each day. They worked work difficult materials-glass tiles- and created a beautiful new bathroom for us."

"Windows are good. Work was sloppy. Still finding shards of glass on the floor and the furniture a week after completion. Caulking looks like a third grader did it- including caulking the screen door to the frame. For this type of investment, they should act like professionals."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.

Smart glass may still work at night, but it depends on the type of smart glass. Some options, smart tint, are controlled by outdoor heat and light and therefore will turn back to transparent at night. Other types can provide a frosted look for some privacy at night. For example, you can turn PDLC smart glass completely opaque any time, day or night.

Glass tile can cost as much as or more than other durable tile types. When choosing the right tile for you, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each can help you make an informed decision. The pros and cons of glass tile include:

Pros

  • Light-reflecting to add brightness

  • Waterproof and mold-resistant

  • Made from recyclable materials

Cons

  • High cost compared to similar and more durable materials

  • Usually requires professional installation

  • More easily scratched compared to materials like ceramic and porcelain

The average mirror has a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. After that, the coating begins to deteriorate, losing its reflective properties. Acrylic mirrors have a slightly shorter lifespan of seven to 10 years. Higher-quality acrylic sheets with UV-resistant properties have lifespans similar to those of your average mirror. By maintaining your mirrors and keeping them out of direct sunlight when not in use, you can extend their lifespan. Some mirrors can last for decades.

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.
