"After having another landscaper cancel our appointment at the last minute, I called Plymouth Nursery & within a few hours John was at my front door. What started out as a front walk landscaping project turned into a total landscaping transformation including a slate patio with a stone seat wall and lighting. We are so happy with the design and workmanship. It fits in so nicely with the details of our home and the lighting is such a nice touch."

"Dan at Pana Landscaping was a pleasure to work with. He listened to what we wanted. Ten dying bushes were removed and were replaced with beautiful new ones . The bordering Belgian blocks finished the work perfectly. We highly recommend Pana Landscaping."

"Everyone we worked with at Greenstone - Mark Sr, Mark Jr, Laura and the crews - were just terrific in every way. We got a fast response and visit from Mark Sr for a quote. He knew exactly what we wanted and they completely redid our flagstone front walk - over 12 years old and now looks brand new - and built a new brick landing with a beautiful bluestone landing top and 2 steps. It could not have turned out any better! Mark Jr was able to find bricks to match our 27 year old home after I gave him the brick name we ordered way back when. It looks like the new landing / steps came with the house. The workmanship and attention to detail by the crews was amazing, precise and exacting. I cannot recommend this company enough - the end result exceeded my expectations. I would hire them again in an instant. Thanks to all who worked on our project, it is perfect."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Moss attaches to the ground but doesn’t have roots, so it can take four to six weeks for establishment to begin. It takes between 12 and 18 months for full coverage, and maximum thickness takes about two years. Keep your moss moist and debris-free to ensure it establishes itself well.

In addition to aloe vera and lilac, other effective humidity-reducing plants include peace lilies, Boston ferns, English ivy, spider plants, and lucky bamboo. These plants thrive in humid environments and can naturally lower moisture levels. Place them in areas prone to dampness for the best results.

There are several reasons your grass may be dying that could be in or out of your control. The most common issues include poor drainage, under/overwatering, poor soil pH, low soil nutrients, low sunlight, or too much foot traffic.

Yes, you can landscape in the rain, but you should take some precautions to keep yourself and your tools safe. Avoid using electric landscaping tools during rainfall, and don’t mow, thatch, aerate, or rake in the rain, as your tools can more easily tear out roots in the loose soil. Be careful when working on wet grass, and take your time to avoid slipping. Avoid putting in new plants before a particularly bad storm, as heavy rain and strong winds can damage or uproot plants that aren’t yet established.

Many people have used old tires in gardens as raised beds, planters, tree rings, and DIY decor. However, these uses are not recommended due to the toxicity of many of the chemicals used to manufacture tires. These chemicals can leach into the soil and water as the tire breaks down, creating environmental pollution and health hazards for gardeners and their families.
