"Alliance Chimney came and replaced my chimney liner this week, and I had a great experience with them. They offered me a reasonable quote, and when the job became more difficult than they expected, they didn't charge me anything additional, and they handled the job incredibly professionally. I'm very satisfied with the work they did."

"I hired Platinum Pro for brick pointing and chimney repair. The workers was on time and George explained everything that needed to be done before work (and within the quote) and during. I felt very comfortable with what was being done and the job was completed with a 5 star rating. I would definitely recommend Platinum Pro for any masonry and chimney work."

"Chimney experts was very professional in both scheduling and the job. Al was very thorough to not only look at the chimney, but also to stay with me until we had fully built a fire and had it burning long enough to run a full test of the appliance. Would highly suggest for inspection and installation- they know the business well."

"I needed my chimney serviced after a previous company repaired it wrong, which left my chimney flawed(luckily it was coming into summer). When i first met Anthony about 8 yrs ago, he introduced himself and said he the head tech for the company i called to have my chimney repair. I got to be honest, i was a bit skeptical about allowing him and his crew to work on my chimney, due to how they all look soo young, but as they were working, him and his crew always kept me informed of what they felt I needed to know, which I found very helpful and which put me at ease. I was amazed at how they was soo professional, very respectful, and I felt they have been honest with me though out the whole process. I was soo please with their professionalism, I ONLY requested Anthony for any of my chimney issues and recommended him to my friends and family. Now, he has started his own chimney business, I will be continue getting my chimney serviced with the person I trust."

Chimney Liner Installation FAQs, answered by experts

The cost to repair a swimming pool varies widely, with an average cost around $700. The total expense can range from as little as $10 for simple DIY fixes to over $20,000 for extensive overhauls. Key factors influencing the cost include the type of pool (in-ground vs. above-ground), its size, and the specific repairs needed. For above-ground pools, repairs typically cost between $100 and $700. For in-ground pools, costs are higher, generally ranging from $350 to $2,700. Common repairs include patching liners, fixing plumbing or electrical lines, and repairing equipment like pumps and filters. More complex issues, such as fixing a cracked beam, can cost $6,000 or more, while major projects like resurfacing a concrete pool can cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

The recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) for cleaning vinyl siding can vary, so it's best to consult the manufacturer's guidelines. Generally, vinyl siding can handle high pressure, from 2,500 to 3,500 PSI. For comparison, more delicate materials like wood and aluminum siding should not face more than 1,500 PSI. To safely disperse the pressure on vinyl, use a tip with a wider spray span, such as a green (25-degree) or yellow (15-degree) nozzle. For routine cleaning of light dirt, a garden hose with a spray nozzle may be sufficient. Always exercise caution to avoid using excessive pressure that could damage the siding.

How long a pool liner lasts depends on the type of pool. Most in-ground pool liners last between six and 12 years, while aboveground pool liners last anywhere from six to 10 years. You can extend the life of your pool liner by maintaining proper pool chemistry, adding chemicals individually to avoid staining the liner, using a pool cover to protect it from the sun, and keeping sharp objects away from it.

Yes, you can DIY a pool liner, with careful planning, measuring, adherence to a step-by-step process, and a few helping hands to get the job done. Keep in mind that the type of pool liner you choose could impact how easy it is for you to install. For example, beaded and J-hook liners hook to the edges of the pool either via an allotted bead receiver or hook. Overlap liners don’t use clips and can easily drape across your pool frame without an exact fit.

Pool repair costs come in all shapes and sizes, just like pools. Understanding the potential costs involved in repairing a pool can help you prepare your budget appropriately. Some of the most common pool repairs include:

  • Draining, refilling, and fixing leaks: $520–$4,060

  • Repairing the filter pump motor: $50–$300

  • Repairing the skimmer: $50–$300

  • Pump replacement: $700–$1,300

  • Drain repair: $400–$700

  • Beam crack repair: $75 per linear foot

  • Heater repair: $160–$730
