We specialize in residential work including: New Construction, Total Gut Renovations, Remodels, Additions, Decks, Kitchen / Bath, Roofs,Concrete,Basement Dig-outs, Brick Fronts, Demo, Etc. I'm Steve Santosusso owner and operator of Santosusso Construction Inc. Santosusso Construction has been a licensed company since 1988, beginning in Los Angeles, California. After being involved in construction for a number of years, I attended and graduated from Pacific Coast Contractor's School. The curriculum included general knowledge of all trades, estimating, and OSHA laws. In 1993 I moved my company to the East Coast where I've been licensed in PA ever since. We are a small personal company with hands on attention to every project. Our employees are well trained and trust-worthy, as are all sub-contractors, whom I have used for many years. This combination of employees and sub-contractors provides a team atmosphere with quality work as our goal. Check us out on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SantosussoConstructionInc/

"Santosusso Construction did an amazing job on stepping in to save the day on a fix and flip project that was started by a previous construction company. It would have been completely understandable if Steve, the owner, would’ve opted out from doing the work. But instead, he jumped in, provided a fair price and brought only licensed and expert tradesmen onto the project to get the property sold. After experiencing his dedication to this project, and seeing first hand that he went above and beyond of what was expected, I hired him to renovate my home. Steve is very thorough, honest and was always ready to answer any questions that I had. He kept me updated daily regarding the progress of the construction and assured me that the renovation would be done on time. I would highly recommend Santosusso Construction over any other construction company in the Delaware Valley. And I will 100% be using them again in the future."

DiGiacomo Construction is family owned and operated. We've been in business in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas for over 20 years. We offer free estimates, veteran and senior citizen discounts and we are full licensed and insured. Quality, reliable workmanship at competitive prices are our top priority.

"Digiacomo construction was very professional in two jobs for us at our home. They demoed an old failing retaining wall and built a new wall to support a new garage. We also hired them to pour a new pad of concrete for the garage and a new pad for our back porch. They adjusted plans quickly and efficiently when an obstacle was encountered (our water line was where the original sonic tube would be) and the plan was updated to build around the line. I would generally not be able to be around to discuss plans so they would discuss work with my wife and we're always respectful to her when going over tasks and updates. We will hire them again in the future to complete work on our garden."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Glass blocks are much thicker than glass panes in traditional windows and serve as better insulators. The overall glass block window is sealed against drafts that allow warm or cool air to escape, saving on energy costs. Since this type of window is sealed airtight into your home, you don’t have to worry about air leaks and drafts as often as traditional windows that open and close. When installing glass block windows, look for options that are Energy Star rated, proving their energy efficiency.

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Installation costs range from $400 to $1,500, depending on wall size, design complexity, and labor.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

Glass block windows come in various patterns and styles that offer privacy and unique aesthetics. Frosted or textured glass diffuses light and enhances privacy. Wave-pattern glass blocks imitate ocean waves with flowing lines. Ice-glass blocks resemble cracked ice. Fluted glass blocks feature parallel vertical grooves, adding texture and depth. Clear glass blocks, similar to glass Coke bottles, offer transparency with some distortion and may have smooth surfaces or subtle textures, adding visual interest.
