"I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

"Andrew was quick and to the point. Gave me a great price and options on 18 windows. He kept in contact while windows were on order. Always quickly responsive to emails and phone calls. Job turned out great. Windows look beautiful. His crew was very polite and left everything clean after. Will hire him again for the next project."

"They remodeled a couple of houses that I personally witnessed. I sell the final product and they did a great job. They completed worked for one of my clients in January or February. The first job was about thirteen thousand and the second job cost twenty two thousand. That's as far as the most recent ones are concerned. The one last year, they remodeled bathrooms and they finished wood floors. They finished the basement. It was partially finished and they continued the job until completion. They did so much things in that house. I remember seeing a list which was like two or three pages long. The other the other one was a barn converted into a dog kennel, which was a pretty big project. They knocked down cinder block to put a door in and add heating and water, electricity. They even poured concrete. They do everything. They do very good work so it's not the cheapest in the world. The guy who runs the company knows everything about everything. He is just like a walking book. I would use them again."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.
