Customers say: Quality work

"When I called yesterday I was at my wit's end. Both toilets in my house had decided to stop flushing. I'd tried numerous commercial solutions, all to no avail. When Brian showed up, he had both toilets fixed and running in about 15 minutes. It's been a long couple of weeks, with lots of crazy work stressors, and I cannot say how grateful I am to have someone come in and quickly resolve the problem and provide advice for on-going maintenance in the future."

"Within minutes of requesting service through Angi, we received a call from Aaron with Drip Drop Plumbing. It was late in the afternoon but he said he’d come right over to give us an estimate. He arrived and took a look at our problem toilet. He was very knowledgeable and professional explaining everything he found. He agreed to complete the job that evening, even though it was quite late. When he removed the toilet there were two additional issues. He completed the entire job and finished at 9:00pm. We were very impressed with his work and his work ethic! Most plumbers would have just returned the next day. We felt the fee was quite fair for the job done and parts supplied. He cleaned up and our bathroom was back to normal! We would definitely recommend Aaron from Drip Drop Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs."

"The Bollman Bros company answers the phone when you call. They arrived on time and were very patient and courteous to me even though I was late meeting them for my own scheduled appt for the estimate. They were quick to assess the work required, which was install of a new claw foot tub, a new toilet, and a new sink for a recently built upstairs bathroom. All new lines had to be installed and ran down through a conduit and into the main line in the basement. They not only offered me a very generous estimate but said they could start and complete the job within a matter of a couple days. I had received NUMEROUS other quotes from plumbers within 1 mile of my house that were grossly over estimated by as much as 5'x higher that the BOLLMAN BROS. So I accepted their offer and they completed the job in way less time than I thought it would take. It's been a couple of months and everything is working perfectly. I can't tell you how nice it is to relax in some epsom salt in a claw foot tub! Just outstanding work by capable, reliable and fair people. I highly recommend you hire them and you will be more than pleased. I would post photos, but you may contact me if you wish and I will share the results of their excellent work. [email protected]"

"I was so happy he took care of the leak so fast and efficiently and at a reasonable price, I asked him to schedule other work for us. We now have a plumber that we know we can rely on. We would absolutely recommend Beck Creek to everyone."

"Suddenly, my basement drain was backing up! A friend tried to unclog it, but to know avail. He thought it might have something to do with the sewer line that ran to the street! Right away, I started seeing dollars signs. So, I went on Angie's list and saw the reviews for HL Bowman. Because they were so highly recommended, I went to their website. Immediately, there was a person named Tiera to chat with. I explained my situation and she asked me a few questions. She told me she would have some one call me. I asked if it would be today because there was sitting water in my basement and I was afraid to even flush a toilet! She said it would definitely be today! Within two minutes of concluding the chat, my phone rang. A very courteous person assured me that he could get someone out there today! It was about 8:30 am and he told me that he could have someone by this afternoon and they would call me before they arrived. Around noon, a young man named Clayton called and said he was on his way. When he arrived, he went to basement and checked out the situation. When he came up he said that he thought the clog was in the pipe along the wall going out to the sewer. He brought in a machine and spent approximately and hour and a half trying to open the clog. He then told me that he had called another person from the company to bring a larger machine. Then, Corey showed up with a huge machine and Clayton left to go to another job. Corey was down there for about another hour and half. The machine was much louder than the first one. I was really worried about the cost and the fact that it was taking so long to open. I pictured having to have my lawn torn up and imagining what that would entail, not to mention the cost. Suddenly, he appeared and I tried to prepare for the worst. He looked at me with a smile on his face and said, "it's open". I was so surprised, I am sure he saw the relief on my face. 'He explained that he had to go out 75 feet to the street, and the that the clog was because of tree roots which he grinded through. I knew this machine was probably more expensive to use than the smaller one. So I braced my self and I asked him what the total charge would be! When he told me, I was shocked as that even included the $70 service fee which included up to 45 minutes to diagnose the problem and give me an estimate. But, because Corey had to bring a bigger machine and stay longer than Clayton had estimated, I was sure it was going to be astronomical. Corey said he would figure it out! When he told me the price I could hardly believe my ears. It was half of what I had anticipated! I was thinking about $1,000- $1200! I can't begin to explain how relieved I was.. I would like to say both Clayton and Corey could not have been nicer. Very mannerly, friendly, and polite. When Corey left, everthing was cleaned up! No sewage anywhere. And another thing that I thought was extraordinary, was how unafraid they were of my two pittbulls. They petted them and Corey even told them to stay when they tried to follow him out the door. LOL! And they, listened! I have found my company should I need any future help. It's good to know that there is someone out there who is professional, knowledgeable, and who charges fair prices. It wasn't cheap, but I believe it could have been a lot higher. Family members also thought the price was good. It started out as a bad day, but I had a smile on my face when Corey left!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

What you include in your bathroom remodel will depend on your budget, personal preferences, and the current condition of your bathroom. Bathroom renovations often involve changing out the shower or tub, faucet, showerhead, tiles, flooring, mirrors, sink, cabinets, and vanities. You may also want to upgrade the wallcovering, adding new wallpaper or paint.

The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."

You can DIY your toilet flapper replacement if you’re up for a small plumbing project. Turn off the water to the toilet, open the tank lid, remove the chain from the lever, and unhook the flapper. For a new, adjustable flapper, adjust it to the right setting according to your toilet's gallons per flush rating. Hook the flapper in place and install the chain with 1/2 inch of slack.

Replacing a standard toilet with an elongated one is straightforward. The two types can be installed using the same existing drainpipe and plumbing. If you have a small bathroom, make sure that an elongated toilet doesn’t violate local building codes for clearance, which is the space between fixtures and walls.

Ensuring your toilet will fit starts with measuring the rough-in, but there are a few other factors to consider. The toilet tank's height and the toilet's depth should fit comfortably within the bathroom’s current setup. When considering depth, look at the walking space around the toilet to ensure it fits in the bathroom.
