"In the fall of 2020, we hired Nye Guy Landscapes to design and plant several plants and trees on a hillside in our yard. His price was reasonable, work was excellent. He returned to fertilize weeks after the plants were planted. K Bailey."

"The price and work performed was very good. Chris and crew were very careful not to damage landscape during project, and spent a reasonable amount of time to clean up the area after completing work each day."

"Very professional and courteous crew. They did an amazing clean-up job on my yard -- trimmed my trees, removed invasive vines, cut down a cracked branch on a large tree, and raked the yard to remove all of the debris. I was very impressed, and plan to hire them in the spring to do some landscaping and planting. This is the first time I've hired a landscaping business, and it was an excellent experience."

"Bob made an appointment and arrived on time. We needed some extensive work to help move water away from the house and remove tree roots, add topsoil and regrade. He surveyed our needs, got back to me quickly and arranged a date to complete the project. He and the crew arrived at the time arranged and completed the work quickly and efficiently. No matter the size I'd be happy to recommend Malco for your landscaping needs"

"I recently hired Troy to help level out a large section of my yard, dig deep concrete footers for a gazebo, and assist with some general landscaping work — and I couldn’t be more impressed. From start to finish, Troy was professional, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. He showed up on time, brought all the right equipment, and got to work immediately. The ground leveling was precise, and the concrete footers were dug exactly to spec — deep, clean, and ready for rebar. His attention to detail and work ethic are top-notch. He also offered helpful recommendations throughout the process, which really improved the outcome of the project. If you’re looking for someone dependable who knows what they’re doing and won’t cut corners, Troy is your guy. I’ll absolutely be using him again for future landscaping and outdoor construction projects."

These plants thrive in humid environments and can naturally lower moisture levels. Place them in areas prone to dampness for the best results.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.

It is for the purpose of protecting them from hail because you’ll be removing it soon after the threat is over. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants. But in the short term, it’s fine to use even an overturned garbage can to protect a plant from hail.

Yes, landscaping costs are generally a worthwhile investment that can increase your property value. Landscaping can boost your home's value by up to 30% by improving its curb appeal, which can help it sell faster and for a higher price. Specific projects have a high return on investment (ROI); for example, revamping a front walkway can offer a 100% ROI, while a pristine, well-manicured lawn can deliver an impressive 217% ROI. In addition to the financial returns, you also get to enjoy the improvements, especially with features like an outdoor living area.

Since you’ll likely be digging a trench to install your yard drainage system, this is a good time to complete other tasks that involve digging up your yard, including: Sprinkler system installation Lawn reseeding Regrading your yard Redesigning your landscaping If your drain is under a walkway or driveway, your contractor must also remove those materials. This is a great time to consider upgrading your hardscaping features, especially if they’re nearing the end of their life span.
