After I removed damaged carpet and washed the basement floor with bleach, there was still a noticeable sewer gas odor. I gave Zoom another call and Steve came out the same day. He diagnosed that the grease/sand trap in the basement floor had been compromised by cutting an access hole in it. Steve vacuumed out the trap and installed a repair plate using putty to re-establish the trap seal for $74.
