They actually were able to do the work earlier than originally scheduled. They and their crew arrived early and completed the work expertly. Our soil is so clay impacted that they had to use a jackhammer to dig down to expose the sewer pipe. Ross also replaced our kitchen sink drainpipe. It was child's play for him. "A1 Handyman & Plumbing Services saved my house. I moved into a home built in 1925 and after three months noticed an open, leaking pipe in the basement ceiling. Water was pouring out of it, to provide a more accurate description. Sean from A1 came to the house. He investigated the leaking pipe further and discovered not only serious plumbing issues (multiple pipes connected to the same main drainage pipe) but also an abandoned oil tank was hidden behind the drywall; the consequences of neglect and thriftiness from the previous owners. The huge tank made it impossible to reroute the pipes properly. Sean removed the oil tank, ripped up the subfloor, and reorganized the pipes correctly. The inspector had failed to see this issue and the previous owners did not disclose it. "They came in with their team and went right to work. Only a portion of the basement needed to be waterproofed. They drilled out a 10-inch wide portion of the concrete floor, put stones, pipe, more stones and re-concreted that portion of the floor. Painted that wall with waterproof paint leaving me the rest of the painting to do (my choice). Drilled a hole at the bottom of each cinderblock which drained into a grey baseboard material which then drained into the pipe and flowed into the sump pump. Replaced the old basement window and placed concrete around it. Installed a sump pump, placed the pipe through the wall, placing the water exit pipe into a flower bed. Adding a circuit breaker dedicated to the sump pump. They described everything they were going to do prior to the job and everything they did at the completion of the job. Also, explaining how the sump pump worked. The total cost was $4200.00. The best part they cleaned up after. Oh and before they did anything they placed plastic all around so as not to ruin anything in the basement. I did not have to lift a finger."
