EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!  I received an email from Frank at EnviroClean prior to service date to explain how to prepare for the day.  This email was very warm and informative.  I have had carpets cleaned by several different companies and have never received this type of information to prepare for arrival.  This was just the start of how EnviroClean impressed me!

I was at my wits end when I contacted Frank.  My Yorkie had accidents on my wool area rugs and my wall to wall carpet due to adapting to moving into a new house and the awful winter we had.  I have tried to clean the wall to wall carpet myself and also had another company come in to clean, only to have the smell return almost immediately.  Since the wool rugs were very expensive, I was afraid to clean them myself.  I was also afraid to let just anyone clean them since I was told by everyone I talked to that the smell could not be removed.  I was beginning to believe there was nothing to do except rip up the bedroom carpet, install hardwood, and buy all new expensive wool area rugs.

Well......Frank did what everyone said could not be done.  He cleaned and removed the urine smell completely!!  It has been a month or more and there is still no sign of any odor at all.  The rugs are beautiful and still smell clean!

Frank was very personable, pleasant, and calming.  He explained the total procedure of cleaning the wool rugs, off site, which I researched myself and felt confident that he knew what he was doing.  All other companies I called said they could clean without removing the rugs from the house, but could not guarantee the smell would be removed.  Of course, my research showed that they would not be cleaning them properly, if they did not remove them, and my hard earned money would be wasted.  All other companies could not guarantee that the smell would be removed.  Frank was the only company that said the wool area rugs had to be removed from the house to clean properly, AND he guaranteed the smell would be removed.

He lived up to his promise and I am so pleased that I found EnviroClean.  This will FOREVER be the only company I will trust with any of my rugs!!  Frank is MAGIC!  No hint of smell and my Yorkie has not had an accident on any of the carpets.  This just confirms that the scent has totally removed.

I am more than satisfied with the service and results.  EnviroClean gets 5 stars from me!!!

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Nylon carpet is widely considered one of the most durable and longest-lasting options, typically lasting 12 to 15 years. Its durability comes from its high resistance to wear, tear, stains, fading, and abrasions. It also resists liquid spills, insects, mold, and mildew, making it ideal for high-traffic areas like living rooms and hallways. For even greater longevity, frieze or Berber carpets are excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years.

Beyond the material, a carpet's construction is key to its durability. Low-pile carpets with short, tight loops hold up better against wear than high-pile options. As a synthetic material, nylon is available in a vast range of colors and styles and often feels remarkably soft.

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.

Choosing the right carpet involves assessing room usage, desired comfort levels, durability requirements, and stylistic preferences. Carpet fiber types and density should also be considered during the decision-making process.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.
