"Overall, we were very happy with Brian and so happy to have the groundhog that was eating our tomatoes finally gone.  I had to give a weak rating for punctuality since I rearranged my day for an 11am appointment, but Brian showed up about 3 hours later.  He said he was stuck at a previous job, which happens I know, but an earlier call to let me know about the delay would have been greatly appreciated.  After that intial problem, Brian did an excellent job.  He was very nice and accomodating that I didn't want to use the kill trap that he initially suggested, and kindly used the no-kill trap and agreed to relocate the groundhog.  As a side note, we have been enjoying watching a little bunny grow up in our yard all summer, and on the first day, we came home to find that bunny in our groundhog trap.  I was so happy we didn't use the kill trap because we would have been crushed to kill our little rabbit friend.  Instead we just set him free and reset the trap.   Anyway,  unlike another company I called that would only allow use of the trap for 3 days (for $185), Brian said we could keep the trap as long as it took.  It was a good thing since we didn't catch that groundhog for 8 days and we would have wasted our money on a company that had the 3 day limit.  While at our house to set up the trap, Brian was very patient showing us how to use it and letting us practice setting it up a few times.  He also walked around the whole house and pointed out any other areas where pests could possibly get in.  This was a great service that I don't think that other companies offer at no extra cost.  We finally came home to the trapped groundhog late one evening, and despite a rainy day, Brian came over the next morning to take the groundhog to its new home.  Overall it was a fairly efficient and easy process.  I was a bit suprised how much it costs to remove one pest, but shopping around, Brain's price seemed right in line with others in the areas, plus he offers the whole house inspection, so I think prices are fair.  As a bonus, Brian is quite a character and quite entertaining.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Mice, rats, and other rodents are survivalists. They've developed a set of skills that can help them survive even in challenging, predatory conditions. For that reason, they can be hard to get rid of once they've staked their claim in your home. Often, the best way to get rid of rodents is to keep them from getting into your home in the first place.

Yes, rats are social creatures that thrive together in packs. If you spot a solitary rat, there are likely more nearby. Their rapid breeding cycle and ability to slip through minute gaps in walls, floors, and foundations contribute to their presence. An infestation generally entails more than eight rats. A nest typically accommodates five to 10 of these rodents. When you spot one, it is crucial to take action. Rats can transmit diseases through urine droppings and even cause renal failure through bites.

Stink bugs don't harm humans or their homes, but they can do a number on vegetable crops, especially in large numbers. According to the Journal of Integrated Pest Management, the brown marmorated stink bug, recognized as a globally invasive species, has cost millions in crop damage and is a nuisance to homeowners.

The houseplants that are prone to spider mites include English ivy, palms, philodendrons, calathea, and alocasia. Although spider mites can infest any indoor plant, they are more commonly drawn to the types listed above. If you have these in your home, pay special attention to them to help catch signs of infestation early.

Roof rats get their name because they’re most often found in attics or the area around the attic. They often use tree limbs that hang over a roof to get into a home’s attic and look for shelter. Once inside, they not only like the attic space but can also burrow themselves into soffits or small holes in the ceiling and build their nest.
