"Our ceiling fan installation required a return trip because the fan required a rework of the supplied parts, custom fitting of new parts and professional adjustment of the fan. I called Thursday at 3:00. Friday at 9:00 the work began. Customer satisfaction is 100%. Highly recommend Awesome Electric."

"Warren & his “team” at Goodside Electric did a superb job! Warren was very thoughtful in assessing my needs, converting a fuse box to a breaker panel. He explained what my options were. Then, he systematically approached the task, completing it in a very timely and thorough manner. I’m extremely satisfied with Goodside Electric and will add them to my roster of repair men! They are “top flight!”"

"Simon and Keaton were great; They were timely and efficient and explained the pros and cons every step of the way. The end result of our outside lighting project was wonderful. Our neighbors immediately called us to compliment the job and asked who did it. We were delighted to refer them to Prodigy and will use them again for any future electrical needs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You should never plug a normal 120v appliance into a special 240v outlet, as it can quickly burn out the appliance. This will cause irreparable damage to the appliance and, in worse case scenarios, cause damage to your circuit breaker. Check your appliance’s rating before plugging it into a 220v outlet to avoid electrical disaster.

Yes, you can daisy chain outlets, which involves connecting multiple outlets in series. However, ensuring the circuit can handle the additional load is important to avoid overloading and tripping the breaker. The total number of outlets on a single circuit should not exceed the recommended limit, typically eight on a 15-amp circuit. Hiring a licensed electrician is always advisable for complex installations or if you're unsure of what to do.

No. Do not use a 14-gauge wire on a 20-amp outlet. A certified licensed electrician would know that the National Electrical Code (as per Section 240.4(D) subsection 3) requires 14-gauge wires to be used with a maximum amplitude of 15. Therefore, you should only use 12-gauge wires on 20-amp outlets.

Wiring or installing a light the wrong way can lead to potentially dangerous scenarios, including shock and even electrical fires. If you’re the least bit uncertain whether you’ve wired something correctly, the best and safest approach is to call in a professional electrician to handle the installation for you.

Most new homes have coax outlets in every room. A home can require anywhere from one to five outlets based on how many rooms require internet, cable, or satellite access. If you want to mount your TV on a wall as part of a home renovation, consider installing a new outlet to avoid the need for a splitter or long cable that could slow down speeds.
