"Surefix provides excellent service. I have used them on multiple occasions, most recently to refinish the floor of the dinig room and to repaint the lounge and repair the kitchen plumbing. They did a great job, fast, efficiwnt and very high quality. Five stars no question."

"Great work. Highly recommend and will use again. I had several minor things I wanted addressed at my home and am glad to have used IPS. This will be my go to team for any jobs which fall within their area of expertise. Once I met Fred (the owner) when he came out to give me an estimate I had a good feeling. He was very thorough and provided me with what I thought was a fair estimate.
The day of the work Fred and Frankie arrived at my home as scheduled, communicating with me when they were on the way, and were very professional. In several hours they did what I had requested and then some (power washed my garage floors removing years of build up and oil stains, removed old caulk and replaced with new caulk around jacuzzi tub, cleaned out dryer vents and replaced hosing for dryer exhaust, sanded and repainted an unsightly settlement crack, repaired a leaky faucet in my garage, and found/sealed an area the size of an pencil eraser head presumed to be allowing water into my property resulting in a water stain on one of my ceilings). Finding that small hole believed to be causing the water damage was the highlight of their visit as far as I was concerned because the fact that they could isolate the issue and narrow in on such a small area spoke volumes to me about their attention to detail. I also appreciated the fact that they left no remnants of their work behind when they were done.
I am pleased with all the work they performed and already have a second job lined up.

"Josh and his team corrected a water leakage issue in my basement as I had water coming in the window wells and around the sewage pipe that led to my septic system. Customer service was above par, all work performed efficiently, satisfactorily and all clean up excellent. Work was performed as scheduled and the job was well planned, as there was excellent communication with the contractor. I would not hesitate to use this contractor on any additional work in the future and would wholeheartedly recommend them."

"Excellent!!! Friendly. Gave great advice. Fulfilled all our requests. His work was very professional and we were definitely pleased with outcome. Definitely a â people â person. He remodeled our kitchen, dining room, living room, hallway, bathroom and part of garage. This included taking walls down, replacing entire ceilings, all flooring, painting walls, ceiling, refinishing steps, installing appliances and shower, tub, sinks, etc. so much work and everything was what we wanted."

"Fast, Reasonible, and work done correctly. Exactly what you want in a handyman. Thanks for great service."
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.
General contractors are the ones that coordinate home construction projects. They are in charge of the day-to-day oversight of the subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and to resolve problems as they arise. General contractors:
Complete pre-construction planning, both with the customer and crew
Provide realistic cost estimates
Develop construction timelines
Ensure deadlines are met
Acquire permits as needed
Purchase supplies and materials
While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
