"I needed a new roof to satisfy the Insurance company (my existing roof was 28 years old). Called Home Run Roofing at 5pm on Monday, scheduled the rep for the next morning. Thorough inspection of all roofing components, discussed price, color etc. They happened to have a cancellation on Friday (today). The work crew arrived and quickly dispatched the old roof, had the barriers in place, ridge vent installed shingles placed and total cleanup of the site by just after 2pm. Amazing! This was a great experience with Home Run roofing from start to finish. I will be working with them again to replace my windows for sure! The roof is beautiful!"

"This roofing company is extremely professional. They are a very hard working family creating a beautiful brand new roof. Their concern for my property and clean up was most exceptional. I am extremely happy with my new roof and would recommend them to any other in my community."

"Frankie and his team can be recommended 100%. We had an issue with a leak in our old roof and decided to just replace the whole roof. We called Frankie for an estimate and he was the only roofer who actually went up and took a look at the entire roof. He even put on shoe covers and came inside the house to take a look inside the attic. He quoted us an estimate with reasonable prices for different options regarding the roof and chimney issue he found. The day of the job, the team arrived on time and got right to work. It was incredible seeing how hard working these men were. The entire roof was done in one day and it looks absolutely beautiful! Thank you, Frankie and team."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

It’s always a good idea to have a lawyer review any legally binding contract before signing, including roofing contracts. Most contracts have straightforward language that’s easy to understand, but getting advice from an attorney before signing could save you from being locked into a contract you don’t want to move forward with. Having a lawyer review your contract can also help protect you if your roofing professional defaults on their side of the agreement.

A roof's lifespan can range from 15 to 200 years, with an average of 25 to 50 years, depending heavily on the material, quality of installation, maintenance, and local climate. Asphalt shingle roofs are common and typically last 15 to 30 years; three-tab shingles have a lifespan of about 20 years, while architectural shingles can last up to 30. More durable materials have longer lifespans: metal roofs last 30 to 100 years, clay and concrete can last 50 to 100 years, and slate roofs can last up to 200 years with proper care. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning gutters and replacing damaged shingles, is crucial for extending the life of any roof.

A cool roof is any heat-reflecting roof that rejects solar energy more efficiently than traditional roofing (staying about 50 degrees cooler). Thanks to this ability, a cool roof will make your home cooler on a hot, sunny day. Cool roofs come in a variety of materials, including asphalt, wood, or polymer shingles, clay or concrete tiles, metal, and more.

Ideally, you shouldn’t pay your roofer upfront unless you’re special-ordering materials. However, anything between 10% and 15% of the project’s cost is reasonable to pay upfront. Avoid making a final payment until after the roof gets completed.

It’s possible for a roofing estimate to change after the initial assessment, but in most cases, it shouldn’t. There’s always the risk that something unexpected will happen that causes prices to go up, like discontinued materials or your roofer discovering previously hidden damage to your decking when ripping off the old roof. However, experienced roofers should account for these circumstances in their initial estimates. Roofing contracts are binding, so always check your contract for language about how and why your numbers could change.
