The quality of John's work, his attitude, and favorable disposition has never waivered. After he completed his designs, we retained him to supervise our project. "Short version: If youâ re looking for a very very knowledgeable person who will take all your wants and concerns into consideration, your search stops here with Lynn at Kesselman Architectural Design. He demonstrated to me that he is the best person for the job! Long version: I spent hours and hours looking at house plans. I found none had what I wanted, and there was one plan I kept coming back to that just wasnâ t quite right. It needed drastic changes, so I began my search on how to get the plans modified to meet my wants. I learned quickly that it is not just a â simpleâ thing to move a wall, or just â make the house smallerâ . In my search, I came across Kesselman Architectural Design. I contacted Lynn and we setup an appointment. I showed him the house I kinda sorta liked and the changes that I would want. After another week, we talked about getting the work done and I showed up at his office the next day and he had the floor layout already done! It was very impressive. After we shook hands and the work started, it was an iterative process. Lynn would make progress, send me updates, I requested changes, heâ d make them, send the drawings back. Lynn made it so smooth and since he captured my vision early on, I rarely had feedback for something that I didnâ t like. It was more of â can you add more outlets and a light here?â kind of thing. I can say with 100% certainty that it was worth it. When I compared my drawings to a house plan bought online by a co-worker, I immediately knew the time and money invested was worthwhile. The details on Lynnâ s drawings far exceed the â store boughtâ plans and will pay dividends in the long run. Plus, these plans are exactly what I wanted! I did not have to settle. I recommend Kesselman Architectural Design for any architectural projects you have. Thanks Lynn! It was GREAT working with you!"

Many years ago architects embraced the philosophy of blending proportions and materials into aesthetic designs appropriate to their time, place and function. That same timeless philosophy will be applied to your project whatever its nature.\n\nGeorge Matuszewski Architect believes great design adds value by successfully meeting, and then exceeding the users goals. It emerges from, and is created for the people and culture unique to each client's business. It does not impose the design firm's own selfdefining style. Although every design is distinctive, each project satisfies a common set of performance criteria. In listening carefully to your ideas, feelings and dreams about your project will enable me to work with you effectively in developing a unique and creative design of which you can be proud; a design you can enjoy now and for a long time to come. When my clients often speak of the indescribable "good feeling" they get from living their completed designs.\n

Architects questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you should get an architect before you hire a builder. An architect will be the one to draw up formal plans for your project, including guidelines and even material lists for your builder to follow during construction. Many architects can even help you find builders, choose one for your project, and negotiate prices. Some are also willing to act as project managers throughout the process, working closely with a builder from start to finish.

Yes, architects help navigate local zoning laws, acquire necessary permits, and ensure compliance with regulations, reducing delays and costly modifications.

While classic Palm Springs architecture in the Palm Springs area will naturally cost more due to the high cost of living, prices across the rest of the country will vary. Remember that older homes, including those built before 1970, will cost more to renovate due to updated building codes—something to keep in mind when considering the upfront cost of the house.

Hiring a contractor with knowledge about historic renovations and reviewing their previous work is important. You can find a historic home renovation contractor by calling your local historic preservation office, historical society, or any local historic museums nearby. The staff may have suggestions for specialized contractors who have worked for them. You can also ask them about historic home restorations that you have seen and liked in your area to get recommendations for pros.

Renaissance-style architecture predates Italianate architecture and serves as an inspiration for many elements of the Italianate style. Renaissance architecture adheres to the rules of classical architecture, while Italianate architecture adds elements that served to modernize the Renaissance style for the Victorian era and allow this style of home to be produced in a range of sizes to be attainable for various budgets.
