"I had a "5 star" experience with Bachman's roofing from start to finish. The anxiety I felt about replacing the roof of my home and carport caused me to put off the job for far too long. I was worried about selecting the wrong roofers since I know nothing about roofing. I know I made the right choice because from start to finish every step exceeded my expectation. Chris put my initial fears to rest by patiently explaining the entire Bachman's roofing process to me. He helped me select shingles, and he helped me apply for financing right at my kitchen table. Every step is done with the idea that your roof will stand not just stand the test of time but also stand whatever test nature puts it through. Bachman's warranty left me feeling comfortable that I made the right choice as it goes beyond what others offer. Bachman's is an established family owned company that you can trust. I am comfortable knowing that they will still be in the area should I need their assistance with my roof. The company did an incredible job putting a roof on my house and my carport. I couldn't believe how the efficiently the crew worked. I expected the job to take much longer since wood needed to replaced underneath both roofs. This company has this process down to a science. During the hail storm a few years ago, I saw my neighbors get new roofs on and the process went on for days. Bachman's took less than one day and both roofs look amazing. They left no debris behind either. Unlike when my neighbors got new roofs and I picked shingles, nails, etc. out of my yard. Every member of the team that I was in contact with through this process was kind, courteous and professional...Chris the contractor I first met with, Darci in scheduling, Cathy in financing, and Greg the project manager. I would highly recommend going with Bachman's for your roofing needs. I know that Bachman's will take care of any future remodeling that I have done to my home."

"Long Roofing went above and beyond when installing our roof and gutter. The job turned out more difficult than we thought it would be but Long Roofing made me feel comfortable and reassured that they would fix everything. Everyone involved from the salesperson to customer service listened to our needs and treated me with respect. The roof looks amazing. I don't want to get into price, but even though you may get someone less expensive, using Log Roofing was well worth a little extra cost"

A chimney cap costs about $300 on average to install, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the professional you hire, the accessibility of your chimney, the cap's material and size, whether any repairs are needed, and if it requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, stainless steel, or copper. Copper caps are the most expensive, followed by stainless steel and then galvanized steel. Excluding labor, average material costs are around $100 for galvanized steel, $250 for stainless steel, and $600 for copper. You may also face additional costs, such as hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before the cap is installed.

Here are a few tips on how to choose a roofer:

  • Get everything in writing

  • Ask for insurance, license, and bond, then verify them

  • Check their reviews

  • Ask for recommendations

  • Get multiple quotes

You’ll also want to watch out for any red flags like:

  • Pushy sales tactics

  • Not willing to show necessary documentation

  • Bad gut instincts

Green roofs are incredibly long-lasting. Some have life spans of up to 40 or 50 years. Since the roofs help to protect the rest of your home's roofing system, they can also extend the life of your existing roof.

Regular maintenance and inspections will help you get the most out of your green roof and ensure it lasts as long as possible.

A roof's ability to handle snow depends on its strength and the snow's weight, as wet snow is much heavier than dry, fluffy snow. While designs in snowy regions often allow for 35 to 50 pounds per square foot, a general guideline is that a typical roof can withstand about four feet of fresh snow, two feet of packed snow, or just one inch of ice. Factors like the roof's age, slope, and support structure also affect its capacity; newer, sloped roofs generally hold more weight than older, flat ones. Ice and ice dams add significant, dangerous weight. Because capacity varies, it is best to contact a professional roofing contractor or the original builder to determine the maximum snow load for your specific home.

Yes, a new roof will add value to your home, often providing a return on investment (ROI) of between 60% and 70%. Not only will a new roof boost curb appeal, but savvy homebuyers will also know that a new roof means they won’t have to worry about roof leaks and related damage for years after closing. They’ll also know that they’ll save money by potentially having decades before they need to worry about paying for repairs or replacement.
