"We had an excellent experience with Awesome Electrical Services updating our historic home from outdated knob-and-tube wiring to a modern electrical system. Brian was incredibly communicative, taking the time to discuss the project, timeline, and costs while patiently answering all of our questions. Patty was wonderful, making scheduling, paperwork, and communication easy and efficient. Their entire crew was knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and respectful. JR and Nick were exceptional foremen who went above and beyond to keep the project on track and ensure every detail was addressed. We'd also like to thank Mike, Julian, Trey, and Chris for their professionalism and craftsmanship. Rewiring an older home is a major undertaking, but they made the process smooth and stress-free. We highly recommend Awesome Electrical Services, especially for owners of older homes."

"We hired Price Light Electric to investigate why a few of our outlets had stopped working. Our house is wired in a strange way from when it was built, but Paul's guys were able to track down the issue. They were very nice and punctual. They took their time finding the problem and coming up with the solution. Much to our surprise, since it was a small job, they were able to complete the work that day. I was able to text Paul to schedule which was very convenient, and he got back to me very quickly! We had an incredible experience with Price Light Electric, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is in need of an electrician."

With over 20 professional years of plumbing and electrical experience, we are here to address all your needs. we do framing, tile, concrete, fences \n\nwe specialize in Hot water heaters, tankless systems also. \nfull bathroom remodels,\nwe are different than most contractors, when we do a bathroom we take it down completely to studs and build a bathroom. everything behind the walls is new and replaced. the reason being is if you are spending the money to get a job done, why leave a old pipe, or a wire, or a unstable structure when all it would take is a few minutes todo it right. when contractors leave old things and don't replace everything sometimes they have call backs to fix issues we don't have call backs for issues just new jobs.\n\n, broken pipes and stacks. we do NOT UNDO TOILET or SINK CLOGS.\n\n\n\nover 20 years experience in commercial, industrial, and residential wiring\n\n services include\n\nNEW SERVICE INSTALL 60- 200 amp residential services \npanels, meter, ground rods\nwhole house rewire\ngrounding systems\nadding car charging stations in home\nall your electrical needs. \nhandicapp lifts

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, GFCI breakers are required for all outdoor outlets. This code requirement applies to all outlets located on balconies, decks, patios, and other outdoor lounge spaces. In addition, outdoor outlets need to have watertight covers that provide protection when cords are plugged in. If you have an older home that may not be up to code, it's a good idea to also ask your electrician about adding GFCIs to some indoor areas. Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and any other areas of a home that are commonly exposed to moisture should have GCFI breakers.

Smart light switches are designed to work with most traditional light fixtures and wiring. However, there are several compatibility factors to consider. Some smart switches require a neutral wire to function, which may not be present in older homes (typically built before 1985). If you plan to use a dimming feature, ensure your LED bulbs are specifically the dimmable type. Additionally, a stable Wi-Fi connection is necessary for remote control, though some models may use other standards like ZigBee, which would require a compatible smart home hub.

Soldering is a reliable and durable way to connect wires, but it isn't the only method. Nowadays, professionals often crimp the connection instead—although this requires a higher degree of skill than soldering.

Home power is measured in kilowatt-hours, commonly expressed as kWh. The average home uses between 800 and 1,000 kWh per month. Peak usage (and highest bills) occurs in the middle of summer and the depths of winter. Keeping on top of your usage during these crucial months will lower your annual average usage considerably.

Smoke detectors come in two different options: hardwired or battery-operated. While hardwired units are attached directly to the home’s electrical system, a battery-operated smoke detector only needs a simple battery for operation and can be placed virtually anywhere in your home. Some homeowners may mistakenly think their battery-operated units are hardwired in because all their units are interconnected, but many battery-operated units can operate within a smoke alarm network in your home.
