"Darin has been great to work with! Great ideas gor our lighting needs and very responsive. We are holding off on the project only because another home repair came up that needed attention. But we will definitely have Darin do the work once we are back om track."
"Edison Landscape & Deck Lighting is THE company to do work at your home. From the helpful and kind office ladies, to the designer who came out to give us our estimate, to the installation crew — we received A+ service from start to finish. Everyone was professional, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. We couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend Edison Landscape & Deck Lighting!"
"Ben and his crews are absolutely fantastic!!! Always on time, phenomenal work - fair pricing and always on top of things. Twice, because of weather restrictions during the week, they actually came and took care of my yard on Holidays (Mother’s Day & Easter). The landscaping they do is always first rate and they never cut corners…..6 Stars…if that’s an actual rating. Hire Them!!!!!"
"Ellen helped us design our kitchen in a way that finally reflects our style. She guided us through colors, furniture, and layout choices that made the space both beautiful and practical. We absolutely love it!"
"I experienced the utmost in professionalism and creativity! They were very responsive to what I envisioned for my place and gave me assistance and support throughout the whole process, including advice when needed. The Peaches and Cream team made themselves available whenever needed and provided needed reassurance when I waffled on some of my decisions. I would unequivocally recommend them to anyone needing interior design services and decorating."
"We moved into a new home with a deck that needed to be re-stained and sealed. I researched several companies and chose Renew Crew of Pittsburgh North because I was intrigued by their unique process. Dave came out to look at our deck and to explain what his crew would do. He made a good impression and his proposal was competitive, so we contracted with Renew Crew. Rich & Sean came out three weeks later to service our deck. They were punctual, professional, courteous and respectful of our property--and they did a nice job. The previous owners had used a semi-transparent stain on our deck but had use an opaque stain on the uprights. Rich showed me samples of each stain they would be applying as the semi-transparent and the opaque would not match exactly. I actually chose different colors for the deck and uprights, which made it necessary for Rich to come out a second time. I appreciate his showing me the color difference between the two stains because it change what could have been a disappointment into a good outcome. I appreciated his commitment to making it right for me. I am happy with my deck and will call Renew Crew when it is time to stain my deck again. "
"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."
"Excellent customer service. They were quick, efficient and left no mess for me to handle. I wanted to make sure it lasted through the winter before I left the review, which it did. All around great service."
If your lights are shorting out during rain storms or other winter events, you should probably replace them. These shorts indicate electrical issues that could cause serious hazards. Look for outdoor-rated lights with connectors made for rainy conditions to replace them. But if your Christmas lights are new and you want further protection, you can find weatherproof covers to add to the male-end connectors of your Christmas light strings. These can minimize the risk of shorts.
If you take home a pre-lit Christmas tree but want to spruce it up with blinking lights, don’t worry, there’s a simple solution. You can easily replace the light bulbs on the pre-lit tree with flashing bulbs. For a more subtle look, only replace some of the bulbs with flashing bulbs.
You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.
The easiest and best way to power your outdoor lights is with the use of outdoor outlets. Most building codes now require exterior outlets in homes, so you likely already have outdoor outlets available to plug into. However, you can have these outlets installed if your space doesn’t currently include them.
Cold weather can cause older incandescent Christmas lights to fail by causing cracks in the finish or the glass itself. Modern LED lights are affected in the opposite way and perform even better as the temperature drops.
