"I have had two issues since they installed the new sump pump and irrigation. Issue number one was water still getting passed the new concrete. The other issue is that the new concrete was not level at all which has caused issues with the new flooring I installed. However, their customer service is top notch and will work hard to take care of you."

"Friends and neighbors who know what our basement looked like before are stunned by the gleaming concrete floor. Its warm brown stain and unusual character make you forget you're in a basement at all, thanks to the great job done by Alan and his crew at Your Concrete Guy.
The floor was in terrible shape: parts of it had been tiled, parts painted, parts dug up and badly patched, and all incredibly uneven. After consultation and helpful advice from Alan, we opted to have the floor grinded and skim-coated before staining. We learned that staining a concrete floor takes faith: It's not an exact science because every floor responds a little differently to the stains—even after skim-coating. From a color and design standpoint, we didn't know exactly how our floor would look when it was finished. But Alan had prepared us well and together we adjusted here and there along the way to achieve a great final result.
Alan's crew was punctual and courteous and the job stayed on budget and on schedule. After they finished, we covered the floor and proceeded with the final renovation. Now the floor is uncovered and Alan is completing some after-construction touch-ups. I would recommend his company to anyone who is planning a concrete make-over.

"I have already referred two acquaintances to Ledesma Concrete Services.  These contractors were professional, courteous, on time and the cost of the project was the same as the estimate.  I am very pleased with their work and timing.  I am getting ready to put this house on the market and the backyard is looking great!

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Charges correlate with surface size, settlement depth, and access, often yielding significant savings over concrete replacement.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.
