"John Stitely was our contractor for our master bedroom, bathroom and laundry room addition. What a great experience we had with him. He was extremely honest, friendly, reliable and an excellent builder. We contacted him with questions in the evenings and on weekends and he always responded. He worked on the weekends for us too when we needed him to in order to meet a deadline. The quality of his work was also excellent and the cost was in line or less than other bids we received. He was always very honest about how we should handle issues that came up related to permits, etc. If you need a good general contractor, hire John!"

"They were both very professional and honest. Two of the nicest guys you will ever meet. They drove from Eugene to my house in Scio, Or. An hour drive . Did a complete evaluation of the cracks in my foundation. Then did a Level Survey on my entire house. They said my house was in good shape. Nothing to worry about. Then I thanked them both and ask how much I owed them. They said (NO) Charge. Then to top it off . They sent me my own copy of the survey report. I recommend Ram Jack West. Call Dan the owner. You will be happy you did. Thanks again"

"Ross Built completed our new custom home construction on time and under budget. Ezra's (owner) extensive network of local subcontractors was instrumental to making the project go smooth. I witnessed other home owners suffer from delays as a result of labor and material shortages caused by the pandemic. His experience really shined during the site prep and foundation building process where he had to deal with a challenging gradient and property boundaries. Also, all of his subs were very professional and easy to work with. My family is very satisfied with the final product. Highly recommend Ross Built for anyone wanting to build custome homes in Central Oregon."

"The bidding process is very efficient. You can see the costs of each part of the job. The crew was friendly and efficient and were willing to answer any question I had and walked through everything they were going to do before they did it."

"With all projects, nothing is ever 100 % smooth. Ours was a little rocky and Nate was informative, supportive, and inside full to keep us on track. His honesty and ideas kept us from going way over budget. His ideas on changing things up gave me the kitchen of my dreams."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Mudjacking restores level surfaces, prevents further damage, and is more cost-effective than a full replacement.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

Costs range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the size and condition of the area.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.
