"Purchased a 1906 home in North Portland with an uneven foundation that had been patched for 60 years, but needed serious stabilization work. I contacted multiple foundation contractors in the greater-Portland area and Ram Jack was the only team that provided a full worse-case estimate that included everything that I may need to permanently stabilize the home's foundation. Other contractors' estimates were higher, omitted some of the features of Ram Jack's estimate, and involved greater excavation work around the home. While I was collecting estimates, I had multiple contractors check the levels on the house and could see the home was continuing to sink as much as half and inch in some areas within only a few months, so I knew I had to do something soon as the hotter summers are causing significant erosion to the clay soil in north portland. After paying the 50% down payment, I was quickly in touch with multiple project managers and structural engineers who were able to answer my questions as the work plan developed. I work from home and have two cats, so I was a bit worried about the noise and needing to leave at certain times during the work. Ramjack devised a plan of installing 12 helical piers from the basement and 2 outside for a small crawl space area as well as replacing most of the piers in the basement that had water damage. During the excavation and pier installation, I didn't have to leave my house at all, my cats were fine, none of the utilities ever needed to be turned off and none of the neighbors said they heard more than the hum of the generator outside; insane professionalism. The work team kept me informed at every step of the excavation and pier installation and was able to recover an inch of lift with only a few drywall cracks that I patched in a day. I could have gone further, but wanted to avoid any potential damage to the sewer pipes and stay within my budget. During the lifting, I was standing with the lead construction manager who kept me informed of every risk as we lifted the house bit by bit. During the excavation my basement looked insane with mounds of dirt everywhere, but the construction team cleaned everything flawlessly; all I had to do was a quick mop and the basement was good as new again. Overall had a great experience with RamJack; the 20 years in business shows, most everyone I dealt with had been working with them for years; the construction manager had been doing pier installation for 15 years. The work was expensive, but cheaper than the other local contractors, and certainly way cheaper than replacing the entire basement foundation. Ramjack was even able to take a few grand off the intitial worse-case estimate for solutions not needed. Glad I was able to repair my 120 year old home; here's to another 100 years. "We first called TerraFirma but the salesman said we could dig out the entire exterior, add a membrane, drains etc for about $24,000. When I pressed for other ideas he seemed unenthusiastic. I said I would think about it and he never contacted me again. We then tried another company who was at least amendable to other approaches and gave me a quote of $12,000 for a sump pump and interior perimeter drains. Then we called John's Waterproofing and Peter came out. Peter was awesome. He had a whole suite of things that could help out in the basement and really listened and discussed our options. We weren't going for a dead dry basement that we could finish, we just wanted to get it dry and lower the humidity. So Peter and I went through all the things and came up with a plan together. In the end we had a sump pump, perimeter drains in the basement and crawlspace, cleanspace barrier throughout the crawl and brightspace paneling on the walls of the basement to stop humidity coming in from the walls. We also had piping installed below ground outside in which to run the gutters out to the street. All of that for only $8000. Once agreed the crews came right on schedule and finished the work ahead of time. I've waited to give a review to see the system in action. For the past week it has been raining steadily. However in our basement is nothing but dry dust."

"The job was a complete remodel from floor to ceiling. We replaced tile and carpet with engineered hardwood, gutted and remodeled 2 bathrooms, new kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash and appliances. Updated plumbing and electrical, removed walls, scraped popcorn ceiling added can lighting and painted. The job also included all new solid wood doors throughout, and new trim and molding. I would recommend Green Hills Construction in a heartbeat! I was kept in the loop throughout and the end result is awesome."

"West Lake Construction removed existing roofing shingles on my large house ( 63 squares!) and installed architectural composition shingles. They had to replace ten sheets of new CDX plywood. The boss was Tyler Weston, who knows his roofing. He was always nice to work with. His crew was hard-working and knowledgeable. He kept on budget. They cleaned up really well. I highly recommend this company."

"I have had two issues since they installed the new sump pump and irrigation. Issue number one was water still getting passed the new concrete. The other issue is that the new concrete was not level at all which has caused issues with the new flooring I installed. However, their customer service is top notch and will work hard to take care of you."

"There was some miscommunication between the dispatcher and I but the plumber that came to my house explained the issue and rescheduled me for the weekend. I explained the urgency of filling in the trenches and he accommodated my schedule, he was great to work with. He spoke very highly of his company, not something you hear everyday from employees!"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."
