"The guys at NW Weatherization did an excellent job installing additional insulation in my attic and crawlspace. They also reattached the exhaust fan boot. I can tell that the added insulation is helping keep my home warmer since the furnace doesn't come on as often and run as long. Thank you Ryan and everyone at NW Weatherization!"

"They installed new insulation for us in an um-insulated attic space. They were well-priced, on-time, and very easy to work with. Workers all wore protective equipment and were both professional and friendly."

"Westside Drywall was the only firm willing to do what I requested, which was to repair and not replace under-floor insulation. As a result, their price was much lower. An added bonus was that they could schedule the job in a few days instead of a few weeks or months."

"Charles came out to do the bid. I had questions later but he didn't respond. Twice, after letting them know I hired a different siding installer, the company asked me if I had any questions. I think they don't have good communication within the office."

"Ezra called and came by the same day I requested service. Ezra pointed out what needed to be done and said they would be back in a week. Jeff showed up on the specified day and went to work. He did a very professional job and cleaned everything up. He even swept the concrete pad in front of the shed. I will definitely use them again."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Depending on size, material, and labor, two windows can cost between $600 and $1,600.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

There are a range of egress window types available, including:

  • Single-hung: $100–$400

  • Double-hung: $250–$500

  • Horizontal/sliding: $150–$800

  • Casement: $200–$500

  • In-swing: $350–$700

When choosing a type of egress window, consider how you’d like to open it. For example, double-hung egress windows open from top to bottom and let plenty of fresh air in, whereas sliding windows slide open for easy access.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.
