They were very courtesy on the phone and walked me through turning of the water and gas to my water heater. They gave me a time estimate of 2-3 hours but were on site within 1 hour. The service took less then 45 minutes and they removed my old water heater. The only thing I found troublesome is that they began work without telling the price. I had to ask. On the invoice there was not a price break down for labor vs cost. They installed and AO 40 gal natural gas 6 year water heater. The price range that I found after they were here was between $400 to $670 for this brand. The company did not give me an option on brand or price. We wanted him to include taking the tree down, splitting the wood, and stacking it in our woodshed. The estimate was significantly less than another tree company had charged a couple of years earlier.
Randy called one evening and asked if the next morning would be a good time. We said yes. Randy and his crew came up our steep driveway with a cherrypicker and removed the upper branches and brush from the tree, making sure it all fell in the driveway. They stacked it in their trailer and hauled the brush away.
Then they cut down the trunks, cut the logs into the stove lengths we'd specified, split the wood and stacked it neatly in the woodshed, as requested. When I asked if they'd lower the stumps, the readily agreed and also volunteered to shorten a couple of adjacent stumps that had been left by the other tree company.
We were especially happy, in our current drought, to see that they had a fire extinguisher nearby.
The crew worked quietly and diligently and cleaned up meticulously. We will definitely hire them again."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/or/roseburg/cowboy-tree-svc-reviews-5443682.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Home Depot - Tigard","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"OR","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"April A."},"reviewBody":"My experience with Home Depot itself was very disappointing. I had a much better service experience at Lowe's but it came down to a significant price difference between the two companies. I woke to a broken hot water heater and instantly began doing online searches for replacement water heaters, pricing and installations. Home Depot touts same day installation if you call by noon. I called around 9:30am to several companies to ensure that they had the heaters in stock and could indeed deliver today. I called Home Depot 3 times because each time I was transferred to the water heater department no one picked up. In between I had gotten through to a competitor. They were extremely helpful in giving me pricing, calling to confirm delivery that day etc. However when they proactively called back to let me know when the entered all the info in their system the installation was over $100 more than they had quoted me. That is when I called Home Depot back a 3rd time. I reached a gentleman in the water heater department. I asked if they had heaters, he said yes they had them in stock. When I asked about delivery and cost he said, and quot;oh gee, um, I don't know, I really wouldn't have any ideaand quot; He said that if I logged into the website there was an 800 number I could call to find that information out. He couldn't even be bothered to give me the number. Being desperate, I looked up and called the 800 number. The installation group, Fast Water Heaters, I want to stress was great! They could not get the heater installed the same day, despite Home Depots claim of same day installation if ordered by noon (it was now 10:15am). But they were highly rated on Angie's list and even honored the Angie's List coupon on the order. They (Fast) set up an appt for the next day. The installer was about an hour late due to a company meeting, but called and kept me informed. He was courteous and friendly. He wasn't pushy with some upgrade offers and cleaned up his work afterwards. I highly recommend Fast for your plumbing and water heater needs, but Home Depot needs to work on their customer service! FAQs for gas log service projects in Roseburg, OR
A gas log fireplace should be inspected and serviced as needed once a year. Preventative maintenance can help keep your fireplace in working condition and save money in the long run by avoiding more costly repairs on parts that could have been fixed sooner with a regular inspection.
The cost difference between a gas fireplace and a wood-burning fireplace depends on the type of wood-burning fireplace installed. The cost to install a gas fireplace tends to be cheaper than the cost to install a brick wood-burning fireplace. Installing a gas fireplace costs about $3,600 on average, whereas the cost to build a masonry wood-burning fireplace can go up to $30,000. The cost to install a wood-burning fireplace insert or stove can cost from $700 to $6,500, about the same as a gas fireplace on average.
The cost to repair a fireplace depends on the type, extent of repairs needed, and your location. The average cost to repair a fireplace varies depending on the part of the fireplace that needs work:
Firebox: $160–$2,500
Refractory panel: $200–$300
Hearth: $150–$800
Mantel: $500–$1,200
Pilot light: $100–$350
Igniter: $100–$150
Gas valve: $150–$300
Thermocouple: $75–$350
Thermopile: $75–$350
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
