Assurance Home Inspections
About us
Buying a new home is probably the biggest investment you'll ever make. It's a decision that will affect you for years to come. The process can be extremely stressful and confusing. And of course, there is always considerable risk involved when making such a large purchase decision. A professional inspection will significantly reduce your risk and help make the entire home buying process easier and less stressful. We really enjoy helping our clients in this process; customer service is our highest priority. We encourage all of our clients to be present at the inspection. However, most of our clients tend to show up for the last hour of the inspection to get a recap. We take digital pictures during the inspection which we will show you to aid our explanations of anything we may have found. You should feel free to ask the inspector any questions you may have during the inspection process. The inspector will point out problems and explain them to you. We will explain what routine maintenance is needed to keep the house in top condition. This will help you get the most benefit from the inspection and gain the most understanding of the systems that make up your home. You'll get a comprehensive report that is easy to understand. Items identified during the inspection will be included in the report. Armed with the information our report will provide, you can make your decision with confidence.

Until Irik crawled under the house. He was incredibly thorough in his inspection of the rot, mold, fungus, moisture damage and animal feces (Ok - maybe he didn't inspect that too closely) under the house. At that point, he alerted us to the severity of the damage and gave us the opportunity to and quot;bail outand quot; 1 hour into the inspection, however we chose to go on.
Irik then inspected both the interior and exterior of both the cabin and an exterior structure and with good humor pointed out problem after problem after problem - things we had not seen even though we had been walking around the house for 2 hours. When he found something significant (or funny) he came and got us so we could see in person, even though everything was also thoroughly documented with photos as well.
At the end of the almost 4 hour inspection, he spent about 30 minutes with us going through the photos, pointing out specific problems in the cabin, answering questions and telling us cool inspection stories.
Irik told us we would have the report within 24 hours (at 4pm on a Friday) and we received it by 9pm that night. It was fascinating reading, very thorough and there were additional explanations and documentation of the problems.
We decided not to buy the cabin, but I have no regrets spending the 620.00 for the inspection. I learned so much from Irik in the process that I feel it was money well spent for that alone. We are still looking for a cabin, and definitely plan on using Irik again, if for no other reason that he is a cool guy to hang out with all day AND really good at his job.
