"Here?s a condensed version under 999 characters while keeping it natural and personal: --- Vanguard Construction did an amazing job transforming my garage into a high-tech office and workshop. It started as an old, uninsulated space with outdated paneling, but they completely gutted, insulated, and upgraded everything. They brought in an electrician to install a dedicated subpanel, 12 lights, 18 outlets, and a 240V outlet, ensuring I had power where I needed it. They also installed security cameras, motion lights, and outdoor outlets. They framed and soundproofed a wall to separate my laundry area, added French double doors, and finished with carpet tile. Their transparency was outstanding?they broke down every cost, kept me informed, and even refunded me $800 from the material budget. They put time and care into every detail, and I?ll be hiring them again soon. If you want quality work from an honest, detail-oriented team, hire this company."

"Edgar did some various tiling work for us. He does a great job cleaning existing dirty grout between the floor tiles. Looked like a brand new floor after he was done! He also did a nice job putting in heated flooring and new porcelain floor tiles in our guest bathroom."

Small jobs welcome

"Steve is a very seasoned contractor and can pretty much do it all from the ground up. He always gives his honest opinion when challenges appear and he always works hard to get the job done right and on time. His methods and accuracy in any phase of construction are second to none...whether it is framing, siding, interior finish work or even installing kitchen cabinets. Steve has helped me with many projects (large and small) over the years and is very reliable."

"What an outstanding company! Initial quote was competitive and honest. Communication and professionalism was above and beyond expectations. The guys were pleasant, hardworking, meticulous, considerate, efficient and did a killer job! They installed glued down hardwood flooring in our house, and I would recommend them to anyone. The finished job looks fabulous, and the whole experience working with them was seamless."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

If the hearth ends against a wall, you can use a tile cutter as you normally would. However, if the edge of your hearth ends with no surface pressing against it,you may want to look into rounded tiles. These give a smooth edge to your hearth and make sure cut edges aren’t visible. You can also see if the tile you have has pieces that have been glazed or rounded on one edge. You’d then cut the tile and place it normally, with the cut edge facing inward.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

Replacing tile flooring can take a few days for a pro, but larger rooms will need more time. It takes eight to 12 hours for a tiling pro to remove old grout and tiles across 100 square feet. Then, it will take about four hours to prep the subfloor for tiles and another eight to 10 hours for a pro to install new tiles. Your tiling project may take up to a week, depending on the size of the room.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.
