"It was the most unpleasant stressfull experience I ever had! We agreed for 250$, guy come out with Husky dog, was smoking cigares while working. He knew house size, was here before. After work was done he asked for 400$!! When I asked why, he started to bully me, moved big heavy card on our parking lot, then asked for 500$ , and my credit card number. He also was threatening me that he will come back and brake my gutters! Scam! Awful services, not professional at all."

It’s possible to install solar panels on a tar and gravel roof, but it does increase the risk of roof leaks more than installing solar on a sloped roof would. Flat roofs pool water in heavy rain and hold onto snow longer than sloped roofs do, so all aspects of the roof will be exposed to moisture and water more readily. Adding roof penetrations to install the solar racking system will increase that risk further.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices.
