"EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!! The owner, David, responded to a Friday night emergency to open our clogged sewer line, and his camera inspection revealed a collapsing sewer lateral. The initial repair quotation contemplated having to excavate; however, they managed to find a way to do the repair by inserting a liner, which reduced the cost by $6,000. We much appreciate their honesty and efforts to repair our lateral at the lowest cost to us. Each member of the crew was professional, competent, and a pleasure to work with. The work required two unexpected additional visits which were performed cheerfully and at no added cost. Sewer Replacement Specialists are exceptional, especially in this era of declining service and exploding costs."

Owned and mainly operated by Don Bassetti. Homers Excavation has been up and running for a year and a half, but Don has been working in the industry for years. Please visit our Facebook page for reviews and photos! Homer's Excavation main services include, but may not be limited to excavation, land clearing, grass and stump removal, road site prep for buildings, horse arenas, cattle and vineyard fencing, tree removal, private logging, grass and bush removal, and trenching.

"Hired them for a basic residential addition foundation job and they completely screwed up every step of the process. They don’t know how to read plans or pour straight out flat foundations. They don’t pay their subs which is coming back on us now. They won't respond to any communications. A lien has now been filed on the project because of their lack of payment. Shocked at their ineptitude. Very friendly people, but they should not be construction business owners."

"We hired Andy Boaz to install hardwood flooring throughout our home. We went out of town for a week, so he could complete the job, but upon our return only one room had the flooring laid. He did not follow both ours or manufacturer specifications when performing the work. We requested he remove the particle board under the carpet, but he did not. After almost two months, where our house had been literally torn up in every room, with carpet removed, stairs demolished, hardwoods and equipment stored, he finally returned to perform additional work. He installed the floor in a spare bedroom, but did not install the correct height of plywood, so there is a significant height disparity from the entry way to the bedroom, which has created an unsightly transition and tripping hazard. The stair treads did not meet code due to the disparity of height between treads and were unsightly, poor workmanship, and not acceptably finished. He hires unqualified workers to perform skilled labor. Our very expensive wood floors had gaps between slats, were scratched, marred and covered with glue, not to mentioned he picked up the flooring from the distributor, drove over two hours in the pouring rain without covering and protecting the hardwoods. The packages and some of the product were soaking wet and covered in mud. After many weeks had gone by, with many promises to complete the project we were faced with no other choice but to fire him. We hired another contractor and within two weeks the flooring was finished and most of the other issues resolved."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

For disposal clogs with standing water, use a sink plunger and place it over the garbage disposal drain. Push the sink plunger up and down the drain about six to eight times before lifting. If the sink drains, the clogged food particles are dislodged from the drain. If there’s still standing water, repeat the steps until the standing water clears out.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Unlike regular cleanings, snaking your sewer line should be done as needed. There’s no reason to snake your sewer line if you don’t have any noticeable issues, like slow drainage or plugged drains. You can add it to your regular sewer cleaning checklist as a prevention method (on the same 18- to 22-month schedule), but it’s not always necessary.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.
