Tom the plumber came over and using a professional drain auger went into the clean out drain on the side of the house and got the job done. It took a few tries since blockage was very deep in the drain system. I had tried cleaning drain from same location with DIY size drain snake before I called Tom - but could not reach blockage or could not get through blockage. I had disassembled my kitchen drain pipes before he got their to help the process if he needed access though there. I told him I could put it together - but he offered to do it and he did it quicker and more professionally then I would have done it.

Everything went well. I am happy to have a working toilet.

Tom is now my plumber. I had a neighbor who would come by when I needed him, but he moved away. Tom is my new replacement. He answers his phone and comes promptly. Tom calls if he's running late. His prices are reasonable. He is a one-man one-truck operation and it feels like I'm his only customer because he is so prompt when my drains block up. I just hope he doesn't move away.

We called Tom on the 4th of July, figuring he wasn't working that day, but our issue wasn't an emergency. He called back at 8:30 AM on the 5th, and was at our place an hour later. Dug right in and had the clog cleared pretty quickly. Made some minor changes to our under sink plumbing. Very pleased.

Tom came out the same day we called.  He and his son were friendly and efficient. Our line was cleared and we have a two month warrantee on the work. The discount posted on Angie's list was honored without question. Tom also gave us money-saving advice on another plumbing issue. We will definitely call him in the future when needed.

I provided the toilet so that was not part of the plumber's charge.  The toilet cost me about $250. He installed the toilet and then decided to remove it again because it was not sitting properly.  When he removed it, he cut down or shortened the flange and pipe, then reset the toilet.   So each time he set the toilet, he charged me $250.  I did get a small discount which I believe was because I found him on Angie's list.  It is my belief that a plumber with experience should be able to tell if a toilet is sitting properly before he puts the caulk around the base.  It is also my belief that an experienced plumber should have known the flange & pipe  needed to be cut down before he set the toilet and caulked the base.  So it cost me over $700. to buy the toilet and have it installed.  For what the plumber charged me, I could have purchased two more toilets.  Ridiculous!   And by the way, those 1.28 gallon flush toilets are a joke.  You have to flush twice so you aren't saving water anyway.

In response to my review on 10/15/15 for Tom's Quality Plumbing, the company subsequently stated that it was not Tom's Quality Plumbing that worked on my toilet, that they never were at my address, etc.  For the record, I have their dated, professionally printed company receipt with their name at the top of it and a hand written description of the work done and the charges and the check number that I gave them.  I also have my bank statement showing that they cashed my check, the same check number that is written on their receipt.  And I have their business card that was given to me at the time.  I have seen other vendors on Angie's List  try to deny they did a certain job after they get a bad review so this came as no surprise.  People impersonate Elvis.  They do not impersonate plumbers.

We had a great experience.  I called Tom and scheduled an appointment the next day.  He arrived early and checked the issue we were concerned about - a leak in our front yard.  He covered the entire property inside and out and did not find any leaks.
He then discovered that our pool overflow drain was blocked and needed to be cleaned out/adjusted.  He then cleaned it out and fixed all the issues.
One of my biggest concerns when calling people to come give appraisals/estimates on repairing items in and around the house is that the contractor will either overestimate, or create items that need to be fixed.
Tom was very straightforward and honest.  He came early and took the time necessary to check everything.
I would highly recommend him.
