"We would highly recommend Superior Building Concepts for your next project. After many over priced quotes, underpriced quotes with a wink and a nod to do this small job without permit, or contractors that stopped by to provide a quote that we never heard from again we received a referral from Angie's list for Superior Building Construction.  Stan came by, gave us a reasonable quote then followed up with a very professional and complete contract.  We signed with Superior and were pleasantly surprised with the continued professionalism.  We received compete drawings with architectural choices.  After our selection, it was put through the permit process.  At each point we received proper communication from Stan. Once construction began, Stan was there managing the subcontractors and working alongside.  We were delighted with each subcontractor Stan brought on board.  They were all punctual, courteous and cleaned up everything after their respective jobs were complete. With Covid supply shortages you can imagine some of the issues that arose, but with each roadblock Stan communicated with us and we worked out satisfactory work arounds. This remodel was a pleasant experience and Stan and his team made the difference. You can be confident in your project if you select Superior Building Concepts."

"The crawlspace crew are clear communicators, easy to work with, and prompt. They did quality work fixing the duct work under the house and sealing up holes for an out of control rat problem...we highly recommend!!"

It went great. Installation required two days. The installers were professional and cleaned up well after themselves. The upstairs in our house has only one vent, which is insufficient to keep it cool in the summer. Oregon Heating and Air Conditioning (OHAC) suggested sealing that vent and installing a ductless unit, which would be capable of keeping the upstairs cool in the summer. The old primary unit needed to be replaced, and OHAC suggested a variable speed unit to replace the old fixed speed unit. Everything got installed on schedule and they cleaned up after themselves nicely. The new ductless unit required pipes & wires to run down the outside of the house, and they hid them with a  cover which looked good. The new primary unit is much quieter than the old unit, and both new units are keeping the house cool in this hot weather. They should provide a 40% savings in electrical use as well.

The only hiccup was the new thermostat. It behaved strangely, and rather than spend time diagnosing the problem OHAC sent a technician out to replace it right away. The new units are so efficient they qualify for tax credits and rebates. OHAC completed all the paperwork and registered them with the manufacturers, so all we had to do was file the papers. This reduced the overall cost of the new equipment, which was great.

We've been using OHAC to maintain our old heat pump for many years and were always happy with their service and pricing. This experience was consistent with that history.

"I had a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed for home Tesla charging, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience from Murphy Family Electric. From start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and exactly what you hope for when hiring an electrician. Ted was the one who handled the installation, and he was outstanding. He showed up right on time, was incredibly friendly, and took the time to walk me through everything. He answered all my questions, shared helpful insights about the setup, and made sure I felt confident using it before he left. The quality of the work was excellent, and you can tell he takes real pride in what he does. It’s not always easy to find someone who is both highly skilled and genuinely great to work with, but Ted absolutely checks both boxes. Five stars all around. I highly recommend Murphy Family Electric, and if you can request Ted, do it. You’ll be in great hands."

"As part of a kitchen cabinet project we wanted to have under cabinet lights installed. At the same time it was time to replace the old Federal Pacific electrical panel box. And we wanted to update or fix some electrical issues with lights and plugs. Beginning with the job's bidding process, calling RK Electric was pleasant from the beginning. Our first contact was with Carol who was very professional and personable. She scheduled Robert to come out and give us estimate. In talking with us he gave us a few ideas on how we might want to proceed with moving and adding outlets as well as lighting suggestions. The estimate came back quickly (2-3 days). We accepted the bid but a few days later decided we would like some pendant and dining lights replaced. Another call to the office put us in touch with Linda who made note of this addendum to the work order. The electricians who performed the work were extremely nice, thorough, and talented in making sure the least destruction to our walls were made when running wiring to connect the under cabinet lighting on three walls. The lead electrician Hardy, and his apprentice (whose name escapes me although he too was very good) did an outstanding job topping it off with the new electrical panel box. RK Electric is our new electrical contractor of choice."

"Bill and the folks at Evergreen have been great. 1. I first contracted with them to install the gas fireplace insert. They were highly recommended by the company selling the device. The work went very smoothly. They crew showed concern with keeping my house very clean. They were prompt and courteous and demonstrated just how to use the new fireplace. 2. I had previously hired a different company to tune up my burner - a company referred by the Gas Company. After the tune up my burner stopped working. The other company did not respond promptly so I asked Evergreen to get the burner working. They quickly resolved the problem, that should have been part of the tune up. 3. I needed to have ductwork extended to a room in my house so I turned to Evergreen. The job was completed as promised. 4. Evergreen installed a new central air conditioning unit. Again, the crew was very neat and courteous, completing the install in the time frame expected. Evergreen handled the permitting and inspections when needed. Their subcontractor (electrical) was also very helpful and professional. The folks in the office followed up on all work to be sure everything went well. I will continue to contact Evergreen whenever needed."

FAQs for subcontracting projects in Dundee, OR

One starting point to find a local home builder is to collect suggestions from friends and neighbors. However, it’s still wise to do some more research before you hire a builder. Read reviews to supplement any word-of-mouth recommendations. Check sources like Angi that have standards and criteria in place to screen the pros it lists can also help you find more reputable local home builders.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
