I was impressed with how invested he was in saving our trees. Other companies we contacted were encouraging us to remove the trees. Even to the point of saving a sapling shoot that was sprouting from the remaining birch stump in hopes that a new tree would result. The bid was very reasonable. "My experience with Green Sky Tree Services was excellent from start to finish. When I contacted them to get an initial bid, the receptionist took my info and said she would get back to me soon. I was expecting that to mean a couple days, but she called back within 15 minutes. The arborist, Juan, came out and looked at what I needed done, answered all my questions, and emailed me a bid the very next day. They were booked out about a month at the time, but he was able to fit me in within a couple weeks since it wasn't a large job. He and his crew showed up promptly the day of the job and did a meticulous job trimming one of my maple trees as well as an oak tree. He let me know when he was finished so I could take a look and make sure it was to my satisfaction. The cleanup by Juan and his crew was impeccable. They even went as far as taking care to cut up the large branches with hand saws instead of power saws as to be respectful of my neighbors since they came out early on a Saturday morning. I will definitely be contacting them for any future tree trimming needs."

"We first hired North Woods in 2011 shortly after purchasing our property to take down several large trees, one that was a 90 year old doug fir that was leaning over our house and 2 more that were diseased and needed to come out. Since then we have had them out to our property to help clear brush and blackberries and other messes of overgrown stuff. They have been fantastic and professional each time they have worked for us. Daryl usually comes out and gives us an estimate the same day we call, and he's then usually available to do the job within a few weeks. They were significantly less expensive than other companies that we found for our first job, and have been very reasonable for each job since. They show up on time as scheduled, are very professional and pleasant, and are FAST!!! It's amazing how much they can do in a matter of hours, it's like taking an eraser to your property of overgrown messes. They also break up the roots so things don't come back, and leave nicely chopped firewood and even mulch from the branches if you would like it. We love them and they are our go to professionals for all our arborist needs. "
"I have nothing, but good things to say about them. They were reasonably priced. They came out on really short notice. I called the guy at about 6:30 in the morning because his phone hours were 6 am. He answered the phone and he was there probably 2 or 3 hours later with a crew to remove a tree. It was pretty amazing. It was leaning on my neighbor's house so it was kind of an emergency and was about to go out of town. Even with all that he could have really stuck and told me but he didn't. He actually charged me a really reasonable price. He even came back on Thanksgiving Day to finish the job. It was $750 to remove a very large tree and most of the trunk was actually lying on the roof of my neighbor's house. It actually involved them having to climb up on the roof, cut up this huge tree and haul it up the driveway. It took a crew of 4 guys, a good part of a day and at least 6 hours to do this removal. It was no small job. The $750 was pretty good because I was getting prepared for $1500 to $2000. I thought $750 was really reasonable for that quicker service and to get it out in one day basically. I hired him for a second tree removal because when I was looking around my yard there was actually another tree that looked like it was a little bit precarious also leaning towards my neighbor's house. I didn't want to push my luck so I hired him to do that which he came back and did while I was out of town. It was similarly priced. It might have been a little bit more because it was actually a larger tree and I think that was $850. I think he was honest and he certainly was responsive. I would recommend him to others. I'm going to call him back definitely the next time when I have a major yard clean up or a mishap. I think he does advertise tree removal. They seem to know what they are doing. I don't think they are arborists or primarily advertise themselves as tree service or anything, but they are all around hard working guys. They know enough about what they are doing."

I've worked with three arborists through the last 25 years we've owned our home, and Brian is my favorite. Here are some reasons why:
1. He responded to my initial phone call within 24 hours to make an appointment for a bid.
2. When here to review the project, he listened intently to our requests and goals for the project. His feedback and suggestions indicated that he understood our needs. He didn't waste time with a lot of chit-chat, yet was personable.
3. He didn't try to upsell by pushing additional, unneeded and ongoing services.
4. His bid was reasonable.
5. He has an easy-going personality and communicates with the customer very well while on the job site.
6. He remembered and carried out all our requests beautifully. And we had specific requests beyond just a general trimming of trees.
7. He is an owner-operator who was on site and in charge of the entire project. This is a huge plus, as I've had less-than-desirable results when the person who bid the job is not on site for the job----there is often a gap in communication when that happens. With Brian always there, we got the results we wanted.
8. His assistant who was up in the trees doing the cutting did NOT wear cleats (which can damage trees).
9. Both the assistant and Brian made beautiful cuts and obviously know how to do them the right way.
10. The assistant blew debris off my roof to keep it out of the gutters (a nice bonus).
11. They worked efficiently, not wasting any time, and were not noisy---no unnecessary loud hollering or using boom boxes that might unnecessarily disturb neighbors--- beyond the unavoidable equipment noise.
12. They cleaned the jobsite immaculately. And even cleared out some extra pine needle buildup under that tree.

We wanted more than just a general trim and cleanout of one of our pin oaks and a flowering cherry. We wanted many bottom limbs of the oak removed to bring light into the yard for our vegetable garden, plus the upper part of the tree thinned. Yet we had to have one lower limb stay for our dog's rope toy (a must!). Whenever Brian or his assistant had questions about certain limbs, they asked me before cutting. They never cut more or less than what we wanted.
The flowering cherry in the front yard by the street needed a lot of interior clean-out and was also covering the street light----it was a mess, full of sucker branches and little dead limbs and twigs. While here looking at the project for a bid, I told Brian that I wanted it to look like an immaculate and well cared for cherry tree down the street from our house, but I forgot to walk him down there to look at it at that time. When Brian arrived to do the job, he remembered--without my reminding him--and took the initiative to locate the that particular tree. I was impressed. He and his assistant did a beautiful job making our tree look like the example tree down the street. It's inside area is cleaned out, leaving the pretty branch structure showing, and the outside with leaves is beautifully shaped, even with a section that had to be cut out to reveal the street light. My husband was thrilled when he came home from work.

You’ll want to opt for a smaller tree with a non-invasive root system. Select a species that won’t grow too tall and choose a planting location that won’t damage your home.
Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.
To maintain trees on a commercial property, perform regular pruning, monitor for diseases, and apply fertilization to promote healthy growth. It is also important to remove any hazardous branches to keep the trees healthy and prevent potential liability issues.
A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.
Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.
Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.
