"Pacific Northwest Arborists was great to work with. Keith helped me realize that my browning cherry tree was not in great shape so I ended up having them remove it. They also pruned my apple tree which looks better than it has in years. The crew was great to work with - especially considering the 90 degree heat. I would definitely hire them again."

"Dave and his crew did a fantastic job. We had 3 medium size trees removed with the stumps ground, along with tree pruning on a Japanese maple and fir tree. The pruning was beautifully done and turned out much better than expected. Fair price for the work that was done. I would not hesitate to hire them again."

"I’ve been trying to find someone to cut back a giant tree that was hitting my neighbors house for months with nothing but bad luck. Watts came out and gave me an estimate a day after I called them. That was on a Thursday. That following Monday the guys showed up 9am on the dot! They were friendly and professional and got right down to business and beautifully rid me of my problem tree and all the debris in 15 minutes! I wish I had found them sooner!!! "They were able to come to the house to work within about 30 minutes of first contacting me! My parents house has a forest of weeds surrounding it and some extremely overgrown bushes. They did a fantastic job removing everything and spraying the tiny guys that were too small to pull out fully. Would definitely hire again."

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.
