Excellent service. The pruning of the 2nd oak tree and the Hawthorne tree was done one day, and all other work done the next day. The 4-person crew was very professional, kind, and respectful of the property. The large oak I had removed was right up against a new fence, and not far from the side of my house. And, it was not in an area to get a bucket truck nearby. They arrived right on time at the start of the day and worked hard with minimal breaks - very impressive. They ground the stump from the large oak as well as grinding a couple of leftover stumps from previously removed holly trees. Their cleanup was superb! They even blew stuff off the top of my roof! And the wood cut down was nicely rolled together - not just dumped into a large messy clump! And, they were cheaper than another bid I got from a company here on Angie. I cannot recommend them high enough.

Great service very professional did excellent job

The crew was on time, and removed approximately 90' of overgrown arborvitae and 1 large overgrown roto, then ground the stumps. They were well equipped for the job, professional, and finished the job in less than 4 hours. The price was competitive with the other bibs we had, but we felt we really got real value for the work that was done. I was very pleasantly surprised they were better than the national services. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

This tree was not only tall, but also very wide. It was rotting and due to its close vicinity to lots of buildings, removal needed to be done carefully. Daryl North and his crew did a fantastic job, ensuring that no property or vehicles were damaged in the process. The yard was too small to bring any large equipment back there, so they had to take small pieces of the tree down one piece at a time due to its enormous size by actually climbing the tree, but were able to take the entire tree down in one day with complete safety in mind. They came back a second day to grind the huge stump and hauled away the debris and left the yard so clean, that I could hardly believe that the 100-year-old tree had ever been there! I have the highest respect for Daryl and his crew for making this dangerous job look like a piece of cake. They were professional, polite, and very friendly and kept me informed every step of the way. All of this was done for an incredibly reasonable price. Also, since the city required me to plant a new tree to replace the one I removed, Daryl referred me to someone who helped me purchase and plant a lovely replacement. I highly recommend North Woods Tree Service if you want the job done right!

He called me at 8:30am the first morning after I selected whom I would pursue. He came that evening, looked over my project and set up a work date for the next week. He followed up calls to firm up our next meeting. He came promptly and did the work very professionally. I was very impressed with his expertise and advice. I will definitely use this company again and hope to have Roger Cassady doing the work

It was a great engagement from the start with Darryl offering the best price compared to 3 other bidders. I had used him before and knew he did great work. He was able to provide a quote by just seeing a few pictures. The tree was within an inch of the house and he was able to remove it without damage to the house or the neighbors. What really exceeded my expectations was how clean the area was after he finished. The area around the tree was cleaner than before he came as was the area where I had pre-cut limbs I wanted chipped and hauled.

I contacted Northwoods to trim three Douglas fir trees approximately 75 feet tall in my SW Portland home. They were not able to do the job when they initially said because of an equipment failure but they followed through and did an excellent job trimming and clearing the deadwood from the trees. I was very happy with the job they did and with the clean up so I will definitely call them first when I have more work.

We had a very large branch come down from a tree next to our house and needed someone to dispose of it as well as do some work on the tree itself so no new branches would come down. Ultimately they had to tip a lot of branches (shorten them so that the weight didn't drag the branch down) and shorten the center top of the tree. It required a bucket to get up into the tree. Additionally they did a stump grind on two other former trees, and did some major pruning on a tree that was hanging over a neighbor's house.

It took a while to get the job done. It was considered a small job, and the owner did tell me he would prefer to put it together with another job in the area. He expected about 4 weeks in the future but it turned in to about 12 weeks. I'm OK with this as we were not in a hurry. But it was a longer time than expected. My wife was not thrilled with this delay but she is happy with the work. Quote, written on the back of a business card, was honored. Owner and his crew worked very quickly and cleaned up very well.

I called Daryl and he came immediately, reviewed what we needed - which was less than what another company was pushing - and then he sent a detailed proposal. We scheduled the work and he came on time when he said he would, the team were professional and safe and they got the work done on time. They were affordable. I'd sure use them again.

It took awhile to find three tree services to even answer their phones or give bids. North Woods was expensive, but I was impressed with the description of how they would do the pruning. Specifically the plan of which branches would be removed. The tree looks very nice. I could only afford to have one tree pruned. The owner called me several times during this process of setting up the appointment and actually doing the work. Very good communication!

Daryl's company, North Woods, was highly rated, so we received a bid from him. His bid was less expensive than the others we received, and he was very knowledgeable. His crew came out and very efficiently did all of our work in about six hours, and they cleaned up our yard perfectly. They certainly handled our job in a very professional manner, and we're really pleased with the outcome. We have a lot of trees and will definitely call North Woods again when we need more work done!

Daryl and his team did a great job removing some very tall and large birch trees. They cleaned everything up and hauled away all the branches leaving the firewood for us. Would highly recommend.

Our estimated date was sometime in the middle of December - but they managed to work us in on the day after Thanksgiving. The three person crew arrived right on time, went to work taking out the spruce first & then tackling the large fir. No fence, lawn, or neighbors property was damaged in the process. Everything was cleaned up perfectly. They cut the main trunk into rounds for us to give to a friend who burns wood for heat. They couldn't grind the fir stump deep because of many very large boulders that are down in the ground from eons ago. But they managed to grind it down about 6 inches or so, enabling us to throw dirt on top & plant grass. The entire job only took up about 4 hours.

Amazing. From the moment I contacted North Woods, this project went exceptionally well. Daryl was professional and kind. More than that, he was human. My mother-in-law is a beautiful woman but people tend to try to take advantage of her. As a gift, my husband and I offered to pay to have the tree removed as it was unsafe and that we would help her find a tree service to do the work. Being fiercely independent she insisted on being the lead contact. From day one Daryl understood the situation and kept us in the loop. He would notify me if we needed to help her get permits or when the work might be done or that he didn't have the signed contract yet. Not once did this seem like a burden to him. Instead, he took the time to talk her through the work and why one tree needed to be removed and the other didn't. He treated with such compassion and kindness - we can't express how grateful we are! Oh, and the work - all reports are that his crew was timely, efficient, and they cleaned up well after themselves. My mother-in-law is happy and so are we!
