"Juan was amazing!! The project was removing a full home of wall paper and prepping the walls for paint. Then painting. He did an exceptional job and work long days to meet my deadline!! I will be hiring him again for future projects. I highly recommend him!!"

"I have a 1959 ranch home which was last painted 13 to 14 years. I hired Bernard Painting for the job. The owner, Brad, came over walked through what was possible and what was needed. He suggested what color trim and door would work with the body color. I received an extensive bid with lots of details covering exactly what they would do and why. The bid included repairs to siding and fascia boards plus enhancing a beam and post with cedar on my front porch. The work took 3 full days. The crew was professional and friendly. They were respectful to me and my property. They did an excellent job. Brad came on site each day to check the work and provide direction. He has an eagle eye so missed nothing. Brad and his crew lead, Willy, answered all my questions and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. The job was expensive but top quality and addressed various issues that needed to be corrected and repairs. The house looks wonderful and I'm very happy,"

"As expected Carlos and his team are great guys and do great work! They skim coated a long wall re-textured and patched holes, then primered and painted. Also shot our ceiling with a coat of flat white as it needed help as well. This is a 1000 sq ft. retail space."

"I just bought a new home and wanted to completely re-do the paint job it currently had. I also wanted to get some advice on color choices, palettes, and making colors work well with decorations, etc. Brian recommended a color consultant who walked me through selecting, what I feel, are the perfect colors for my new home. Despite a crazy storm, Brian seemed committed to completing the job to my satisfaction. I liked the work so much, I had him do the interior of my garage as well. I'd definitely work with him and his color consultant again."

"We are very happy with the job performed by Ken's Painting Unlimited.  Ken was one of several estimates and also the lowest. Ken was very knowledgeable during the estimate and pointed out things that were in good and bad shape around the house.  We asked for a separate estimate on our back deck, which he provided.
Within a week Ken had someone out to power wash the house.  They did a good job; the house actually looked pretty good after just power washing it.  We had to wait a couple of weeks afterwards due to a stint of rainy weather.  Once the weather cleared up for a few days, we got a call from Ken saying they would be out that week.  We were very happy with how quickly he was able to get to the job.
We were having trouble picking between two paint colors, so the day before painting Ken came out and painted two color swatches on a section of the house so we could see how they looked.  We also had not picked a stain for the back deck but knew that we wanted a dark color.  Ken said he knew exactly what we use, so we let him pick the stain.  We are very happy with both selections.
On the day of painting, a large crew came out to the house and started working.  We had read that Ken uses a lot of guys on his crew and it is true.  They had most of the house done the first day.  The second day they came back and finished the house as well as the back deck.  They were done in the afternoon. Ken had one of his painters walk around with us and address any issues - there were a few minor spots that needed touch up.
After they left we did find an issue with an area above our garage.  For some reason the paint was not fully covering over some caulking on the front of the house.  We sent Ken an email about it and a couple days later he came out and fixed the issue.
Overall, we are very happy with the work Ken and his team performed.  They were fast and professional.  We didn't have to wait a long time for them to get to the job, and the fact that they got it done in two days was a convenience.  Ken also did a great job of going around the house re-caulking everything.  This was one of the major issues on the house and something he pointed out during the initial estimate.  Great job.

"Energy of Colors is everything a contractor should aspire to be. They were timely, courteous, and professional. They worked with the clients on the color palette, answered every question, and they couldn’t be more thrilled with the work. They had to remove a lot of wallpaper and re-skim the walls- Which is difficult to do right. The paint job is masterfully done, all of the lines are crisp, the colors are perfectly saturated, and this high-end project looks even better than it did when the house was brand new. I literally cannot recommend them enough."

"It went great.  It took me a while to get them out but not because of them it was my schedule was the problem.  The price was fine. I think initially when they came they sent the guy out to power wash the house before painting. The guy that they sent out he didn't understand what work needed to be done so he didn't bring the right equipment. So he had to come back and do it.  In the end they made everything right to feel good about everything that happened."

"Amazing. Crew arrived on time, "isolated" the area of work with floor and wall coverings, worked steadily with no intrusion to me or my time, finished, cleaned up and asked for my opinion/approval. Excellent work, very professional and courteous. This project required some knowledge/expertise as it was being done on a 90 year old home and involved lathe and plaster and sheetrock both. Once complete, the only evidence they had been there was the ceiling patch was done! Would recommend them to any and all needing drywall work."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

To determine how many rolls of peel-and-stick wallpaper you need, measure the square footage of the walls you’re covering and divide that by the square footage that each roll covers. Add 10% to 20% of your total square footage to account for pattern matching or damage while installing.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

Deciding between a lighter or darker accent wall depends on the effect you’re going for. Choosing an accent wall in a lighter color will make a room feel brighter and more spacious and complement rooms with less natural light. A darker accent wall will add drama and depth to a room and help make larger rooms feel more cozy and intimate.

Yes, but professional services ensure secure installation, accurate leveling, and protection against wall damage, especially for heavy or valuable items.

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.
