"I’m glad I chose Papa T’s. They were very prompt and friendly. They went and picked up the new part and had it installed and back up and running quickly. They do not overcharge. I got several estimates and they were the best. I highly recommend Papa T’s if you want great friendly service for the right price."

"Everyone we worked with at Prudhom Heat & Air was courteous and professional. This family-owned business offered a good product at a fair price that met our needs perfectly. There was one small issue a few days after the installation but we called and they were back out within 30 minutes and had the problem resolved in less than an hour. We'll definitely use them for our future HVAC needs!"

"They are absolutely fantastic! It's a company that I will wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. They go beyond the call of duty. They are a really good local company. When they come out, we never pay anything because every year we purchase a maintenance program, and I don't think it's very much. I like their service and the employees. I wouldn't hesitate ever to leave their employees in my house unsupervised, that's how much I trust them. They are clean, they pick up after themselves, they take care of business, they call to make an appointment, they are always here when they say they are, and they even call a few minutes beforehand and say they're almost to the house. They are just really a good company. Without hesitation, I will recommend them to anybody. The maintenance plan isn't that big of a cost and for what you get for the money, it's just well worth it. We've had problems and we get notices in the computer system of the geothermal and it doesn't matter when we call them, they are always very quick to come out. I just can't say enough about them. They are wonderful! They don't just do geothermal, they also do the conventional type of heat and air. When we built this house, we wanted the geothermal heat and air."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

If you go to turn it counterclockwise and it won’t turn anymore, it’s open. Like most other valves, you should be able to turn a radiator valve counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (right) to close it. To close a radiator valve, turn it clockwise until you meet some resistance and can’t turn anymore, but do so carefully to avoid breaking the valve.

If your boiler is 20 years old, it’s time to get a new one. Although it may seem to be working fine, it’s likely eating up more fuel than it should. Also, compared to a brand-new boiler, one that’s 20 years old is probably not working as well. When you get your new unit, you’ll notice that your home is heating more quickly, and the heat is consistent throughout all the rooms.

Yes. In many cases, switching from an old furnace to a high-efficiency boiler can help you save money over time. You can also save money by switching from an electric boiler to a gas boiler, which costs much less compared to the energy bills an electric boil can create. Boilers are often (but not always) more efficient than furnaces, too. Then there are discounts, rebates, and incentives that can help you save on the initial costs.

Since your boiler keeps you warm and provides hot water to your home, you’re likely to notice issues with heating in your living space right away. The most obvious sign that your boiler is breaking is not getting any heat or hot water. You might also hear some odd sounds coming from your boiler during operation, the flame in your gas boiler is not blue, the pressure is inconsistent, or your boiler is using more energy than it should. If you notice any of these signs, be sure to call a pro right away.

The cost of heating oil fluctuates rapidly based on supply and demand, but the average price is between $4.00 and $4.50 per gallon, which means filling a standard 275-gallon tank would cost between $1,100 and $1,240. Much like automotive gasoline, the price of home heating oil changes constantly, so the only way to get an accurate and current price per gallon is to contact a heating oil delivery company. Some companies also offer contracts with a set price that should be an average cost over the contract term.
