"Lowest of 3 bids. I normally take the middle, but Steve really seemed to have his act together. I did have to ask some follow up questions to confirm the scope of the estimate. They might enhance the quote form to include more details (type of materials, labor included, etc). But there’s no doubt they took care of business, even after a couple of severe weather delays."

Junk Free is a junk removal and hauling service. We are a veteran owned and operated business. Junk Free is an insured business. Our prices are based upon how much junk you need removed. We have a large utility trailer that is 16 cubic yards. If you fill the entire trailer; which is a lot of junk, it would cost $350. Anything less than full would be prorated. We try to recycle any of the items we can and anything that is salvageable we will donate to a charity. All remaining items will be hauled to a dump. Call today for a free estimate!

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Magnesium chloride is a relatively gentle ice melt product and, if used correctly, should not cause much damage to your property. The most important thing is to be sure you apply it according to the manufacturer’s instructions and don’t use too much.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.

Natural ice melts can often get the job done without damaging concrete. You can try non-corrosive options such as kitty litter, alfalfa meal, coffee grounds, sugar beet juice, and heated snow-melting mats. While they may cause some staining, these natural melts are safe for concrete, pets, and the environment.

Yes—in fact, it’s an important step in how to start a snow blower. Allowing the engine to idle for a few minutes prior to using a snow blower helps it reach its optimal operating temperature, which gets the fuel running properly, improves its performance, and helps prevent stalling during frigid weather.

Yes, some homeowners insurance policies cover roof damage caused by snow. However, these full or partial payouts can vary depending on the age of your roof and other related factors, like the overall condition it was in before the snowfall. It’s best to check with your specific homeowners insurance policy to determine snow damage coverage and exclusions.
