Whether you are looking to renovate your home or office, we are committed to bringing you the best solution that fits your budget and needs. No pushy salesman or trying to sell you something you don’t need. We always look out for our fellow Tulsa neighbors and you can count on Red Dirt to answer your questions honestly and follow up on what they say.

"Andy was great. He came out, on time, gave me an estimate for blown in insulation for my attic. His two workers came out, and actually waited for me for about 15 minutes, while I arrived at the house. They were not upset about having to wait - extremely professional. In about an hour I had my entire attic insulated. I work from home and hardly knew they were there. I would absolutely recommend and hire them again!"

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

You should insulate ducts in a crawl space if you live in a colder climate or you run your air conditioning for most of the year. Insulating ducts doesn't take too much time or investment and can make a big difference on your electricity bill. While this is more difficult in a crawl space, if any ductwork is being done either you or a professional will be down there anyway. A bonus benefit is since they will be putting off less hot or cold air they'll be less attractive to any unwanted pests in the home.

If you’re using faced insulation with paper, face the paper toward the inside of the room during the installation process.

A good way to remember this is that the paper should face the “warm side” as it’s the vapor barrier, meaning it should face toward where the heat will be coming from.

Because of the moisture concern, open-cell foam requires a vapor barrier. The barrier protects against high humidity and moisture exposure in rooms such as basements, bathrooms, or exterior walls. It wouldn't be necessary in dry interior spaces.

Yes, cold walls could indicate that your home has poor insulation, especially if the walls are significantly colder than the air or other areas in the home. In most cases, cold walls are a sign that the heat produced by your furnace isn’t hanging around long enough to make the walls warm. If that’s the case, hire a local HVAC technician to take a closer look at your heating system.

The cost to install a radiant barrier ranges from $700 to $2,800, depending on the size of your roof and the type you choose. Most people pay an average of $1,700 to install a radiant barrier. Foil options, both single- and double-sided, cost between $0.10 and $0.90 per square foot, while spray-on options start at $0.60 and go all the way up to $1 per square foot—which can add up quickly.
