"Nick called right away and was very professional. He went above and beyond my expectations. My pool was green and full of algae. He turned it around in a few days and was finished in time for my son's graduation party. He was very responsive and I would recommend him to anyone."

"Despite the fact that it was cold and raining, Colleen and Abby spent over 2 hours opening my pool and did a fantastic job. This is the 4th season opening our pool and the previous company was in and out whereas Colleen and Abby took the time to make sure everything was done properly and in my opinion they went above and beyond what I expected to be done. They were on time and professional and I will continue to use Triple A for all future openings and closings. I would highly recommend this company."

"B&T did a great job on my yard drainage project. My yard was a swamp! They came in and installed a drainage system that is not linked to my gutter downspout. Working very well! It's hard to find a company that knows and understands this type of project. Great job, B&T!"

"One oven doesn't work at all ( my choice, see above), the "working" oven was never calibrated properly so using it is hit or miss. It's time to call American Home Shield to see about replacing the entire unit. I'm waiting to finish other home projects before calling them. I don't know if I'll request Greenway again."

"Everything with Extreme Concrete went extremely well. Mr. Mills and his team did a very high quality job and for a good price. It was not only functional, but it was pleasing to the eye. If there was anything to complain about with the service, it was that the company did not make payment available by credit card. It was cash or bank check only. Somewhat of an inconvenience, but for the quality job that was delivered, it was a small inconvenience for the service."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.

The type of sand you need for your sand filter depends on the manufacturer’s instructions, but you’ll need to use sand specifically for pool filters. Silica sand is a wallet-friendly, common choice that’s relatively easy to replace. You’ll choose between various grades of sand and different-sized sand grains.

Before deciding to install a swimming pool in your yard, there are many factors to consider. Even if you still need to figure out the specifics with your pool installer, having an idea of what you'd like will help the initial consultation. Some topics to consider include:

  • Will you use salt water for your pool or traditional hose water?

  • How big of a pool do you want to install? How deep?

  • What special zoning laws do you need to follow for your area?

  • Do you want to keep it simple or add special features like underwater lighting and waterfalls?

While you shouldn’t notice water that has an appropriate amount of chlorine in it (less than 4 parts per million), you could feel sick from drinking overly chlorinated water. Chlorine exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, coughing, and dizziness. Chronic chlorine exposure (meaning multiple or repeated instances) can make you feel like you have the flu, according to the CDC.

No, you should not use an extension cord with an aboveground pool pump. In addition to being dangerous as a tripping hazard, use of an extension cord could void your pool pump’s warranty. This is because using an extension cord not rated for use with the pool filter pump could damage this equipment.
