"Of the three quotes we got Great Garage was the highest, but we went with them because we felt more confident that they would deliver a higher quality product than the others. Good decision. The price we paid was exactly what was quoted. Demo and construction were delayed a bit because of the unusually wet summer, but they were always here when they said they would be. The different crews (demo, concrete, carpenters, roofing, electrical, siding) were punctual, and performed quality work and kept a clean work area. Great Garage’s project manager, Jon Keeney, kept the project moving along and communicated well with us throughout. He was a joy to work with, and was only a phone call away when we had questions. "I don't remember exact dates... but I originally contacted Thompson's Masonry in May 2013.  Bob came out in early June 2013 and wrote an estimate.  We originally just wanted tuckpointing, but since it was a smaller job and that alone wouldn't be worth his time, he suggested fixing the crack in the front porch at the same time.  He seemed very knowledgeable and for both tuckpointing and concrete repair, his estimate was reasonable.  We scheduled the job for mid-July.  I remember there was some back-and-forth in trying to get a hold of the company throughout the process of getting the estimate and scheduling... but nothing I would consider unreasonable for a busy small business.  
When the time came for the job, Thompson's was backlogged with work due to all the rain we got in July that pushed back other jobs.  I wasn't happy about having to reschedule, but our repairs weren't an emergency and I'm understanding that no one can control the weather. Even though the date got pushed back and there were some communication issues, I still felt Thompson's Masonry was the best of the businesses we received estimates from.
The work was finally done on September 6 and it was worth the wait!  Bob was very thorough.  He walked around the entire house with me inspecting every bit of exposed brick.  He repaired small cracks that I wouldn't have even noticed until they became bigger issues.  I was happy to have it all taken care of at once.  The tuckpointing turned out great.  The color matches exactly.  In the picture I've included, the part they did is the vertical line.  The color on the concrete repair doesn't match quite as well... but it looks a LOT better than it did before!  They also sprayed all the brick with a sealer to repel water.
Overall, I'm very happy.  Thompson's Masonry definitely exceeded our expectations!

"If you live in northeastern Ohio, you know about the clay-based soil and the standing water problems. One section of my driveway was collapsing due to a non-functioning drain. I could not afford to replace my entire driveway and drainage pipe. After researching the use of permeable concrete (water goes through the concrete and lower permeable fill) I decided to try this solution. Anthony called me shortly after my request for quotes went out. He came to look at the site and offer information and advice. I felt very confident that he could address my issues at a reasonable price. His crew turned out to be extremely professional and pleasant. Anthony visited often to check on progress, and was always available by phone or text. I am VERY pleased with the end result, and will be calling on this company again when I am ready to do the next section of my driveway."

I have a large one story home built in 1981 which still had original roof. Bob worked with me to choose best color for the new  roof. He uses a good quality shingle. Bob worked with me to figure out best way to approach the skylight replacement. We built some flexibility into the contract because when replacing a roof, you do not know what you will encounter under the shingles. Ended up only had to replace 4 sheets of plywood. The work crew he sent to do the job had top notch workers .They  showed up when expected. They were careful to never leave the job site at the end of each day until my roof was waterproof against any possible  rainstorms. They were courteous and they cleaned up the job site each day before leaving. The new roof and skylights look great.
